Vanessa Hudgens reminisces in an empty theater as she tells a story of the best present her parents ever got her for Christmas: her tap shoes!
The 19-year-old triple threat sat down in a candid commercial for Sears: An American Wish Story, saying that those tap shoes started her career. She shared, “One year, for Christmas, I got the gift of a lifetime. I was five years old and I remember opening this little box with gold tinsel on it and finding my very own pair of tap shoes. My parents are so great and she [my mother] took the time and drove me to the dance lessons and supported me every single step of the way. [They] gave me the courage to just go out there and have fun.”

I didn’t know Vanessa could tap dance.
On the very first few seconds, I was like what does tap dancing have to do with V. Then when it showed her fully, then I was like oh wow!
Sorry, but I’ve been practicing tap dance since I was a kid, so I really know how to dance?

I feel like such a failure of a fan! I never knew she could tap dance! And you can tell that she’s really enjoying herself too, and that it’s something she’s done for a while. What a cutie and a sweetheart. I find it hard to believe that people can have so many vulgar things to say about her when I see things like these that let us have a little glimpse of the real Vanessa Hudgens. If this is all fake, then she must be one hell of an actress. I love her sincerity, and how important her family seems to be to her…
Zac’s father joined him in Australia and they are going to be surfing for the next few days.
Vanessa is finished with promoting in Australia and came home for her sister’s birthday.
