here here some other comments regarding the comparison between Vanessa and Christina :

1. Less successful are “Sneakernight,” an attempt to match Christina Aguilera in pipes and attitude that falls on it’s face ( Variety.com )

2. Ms. Hudgens sounds a little like Christina Aguilera, but that is where the comparison ends. She doesn’t have the range or the production to fully pull it off. ( Amazon buyer)

3. Released by the studio’s Hollywood label, it used Christina Aguilera’s soulful pop as a template; even if its songs were a bit faceless, they had surprisingly sophisticated production values
and a surprisingly good Aguilera impersonation from Hudgens.
( artistdirect.com)

4.lead single “Sneakernight” is an irresistible summer anthem, cribbing its jazzy hip-hop vibe from the last Christina Aguilera album to great effect and giving Hudgens a rare chance to sing with some actual soul. ( metromix.com )

So I agree with all these comments/reviews…
and MAYBE that’s why you think V sounds similar to Christina BUT ONLY BECAUSE of the music templates not the vocal ability…

That’s OK though because everybody has their own talent and uniqueness…

Rose @ 4:56 pm on 12/08/2008

I agree with all of them except for the last one
& dang girl, you did your research
I didn’t ever like Sneakernight, the lyrics didn’t make any sense but I liked the rythm and the ‘basically what we gonna do it dance’ part.
Now that I think about it they do have similiar tastes in music and what they want to do in their music

vancrazed @ 5:09 pm on 12/08/2008

Yeah, that is interesting, because I wouldn’t even use Sneakernight for a comparison, but becuase it is the single I guess that is what got the attention…sad huh?

vancrazed @ 5:13 pm on 12/08/2008

They absolutleyhave similar tastes and sounds in music…mark my words, if she is given a good label and the ability to let go, and we will see something none of us knew she was capable of…I believe the cast when they say she can sing any note…just not given the chance to prove herself yet…really is sad!!

vancrazed @ 5:21 pm on 12/08/2008

i am still tryin to figure out why V in on here, and Taylor Swift and Ruby Maquire are on JJ…can anyone help me out with that one.

Vanfan4ever @ 5:50 pm on 12/08/2008

#347 I totally agree with you , you were the only one with any sincerity towards Vanessa I think the others are just beating around the bushes, trying to make it seem that they like her but truly hate her.

Rose @ 6:05 pm on 12/08/2008

I’m a huge fan of Vanessa and I’m not putting her down in any way, and I’m sorry If it sounded that way, but I was just voicing my opinion.

ashley tisdaleeee fannzzzzzz @ 6:15 pm on 12/08/2008

i think being in either JJ o JJJ doesn’t really matter..
I mean it doesn’t give her anything right ?
in fact,I like it here more because we all love her and at least the target audience is right…

Ashley Tisdale was never nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

That was a well thought out comment Poppy.

ashley tisdaleeee fannzzzzzz @ 6:25 pm on 12/08/2008

aw @ 6:26 pm on 12/08/2008

That was a young adult award. Not a Golden Globe.

ashley tisdaleeee fannzzzzzz @ 6:28 pm on 12/08/2008

I don’t know where to start. Vancrazed thank you for your comments concerning how horrible Vanessa has been treated at Hollywood Records. She signed with them I believe after HSM1 and really was young and thought they would promote her. I’m sure she was promised the moon and the stars since they wanted her so badly due to the success of HSM. Then THEY let her down for whatever reason. I have both her CD’s and love both. I admit that I didn’t think I would like her second one but I can assure most people would like it if they would give it a chance. It is my favorite of both. It really grows on you after listening to it a couple times. I think people were used to her first and since the second was so different they immediately assumed they wouldn’t like it. I’m here in the US and Gone With the Wind is ON this CD. And as far as Sneakernight goes, why does everyone have to judge it just because of the lyrics??? It is one of my favorite tunes as each time it comes on I just want to get and MOVE it makes you feel good—it’s just FUN! Why must it have some great philosophical meaning? Haven’t you people heard other songs that make no sense but were hits??? That’s just an excuse to make it look like Vanessa’s CD was not good. The biggest problem with that CD was the type backing she got—or I should say did NOT get—from her music label Hollywood Records. They should be ashamed considering her potential and given they are associated with Disney and how much she has helped Disney rake in, they should have treated her better.

ashley tisdaleeee fannzzzzzz @ 7:43 pm on 12/08/2008

here what sums up my opinion about hollywood records and V :
( FROM metromix.com )

X-Factor: Is Hudgens paying the price for that embarrassing nudie pic? Officially, Disney accepted Hudgens’ apology for the scandal, but it’s hard not to notice that “Identified” is getting dumped into the marketplace right in the middle of several more high-profile Disney projects, including the new Miley Cyrus album, a big Jonas Brothers tour and the debut of “Camp Rock,” a “High School Musical”-style project featuring hot newcomer Demi Lovato.

and I DEFINITELY AGREE WITH THIS REVIEW :

There is not a teen, tween or their parents that do not know about High School Musical movies or one of its stars, Vanessa Hudgens. There are a number of high and low points of this album. I never thought I would say this, but it was Vanessa Hudgens herself that is the high point of the album. She showed a great deal more vocal range on this album as compared to the last album and the pop sounding HSM soundtracks.

From the very first song, “Last Night,” we hear a much more mature Hudgens with an almost soulful sound where I was expecting yet another child actress wanna-be singer spitting out one pop song after another while hiding any hint of talent between synthesizers and back-up singers. Admittedly, a number of the songs have great beats and quickly become very catchy, such as the title track “Identified.”

On the other end of the spectrum, many of the songs seemed too purposely contrived as pop songs with sometime poor music with even worse lyrics. Even songs that had potential were killed with some of these horrible lyrics which are many times too repetitive, such as in “Sneakernight” which was one of the first song to be released — which is a shame because there are some very strong vocals displayed by the young Ms. Hudgens. Then there are songs such as “Don’t Leave” which just do not meet here voice — or maybe the production of the song was not really of the greatest value — or probably over produced. What is up with the lyrics in “Paper Cut” another song that has so much potential with weak lyrics and poorly produced.

The album has many ups and downs and although I have mentioned the maturity of the vocals, there is also the maturity of the singer herself to consider. At almost twenty, she is at a crossroad in her career at a time where she is looking to begin appealing to an older audience. She has the looks that appeal to an older crowd, but which road will she take? Will she follow in the footsteps of other pop divas and put out songs of little musical value, but great to dance to, or use her talents and create music that others will listen to and appreciate? After she does High School Musical 3, the rest of her career is ahead of her. With her vocals that are displayed on this album like in “Last Night” listed above and the closing song “Gone With The Wind,” she can contribute to real music and be known as a musician or just become known as being the pop diva who is just a singer of songs?

It is an album that has a lot of ups and downs by a singer that has a lot of potential and is worth listening to by those older in their later than teenage years, but a must for all of those HSM francise fans.

Karen @ 7:50 pm on 12/08/2008

Now about Vanessa’s acting ability: Once again Disney really kind of limited her in the HSM movies. Let’s talk about her “scandal”. That was blown so out of proportion since HSM 1&2 had become such a sensation that of course the gossip and rumor mills went wild. But what some people now do not want to talk about is how more mature fans came out in force to support Vanessa. It showed that not all fans of the HSM franchise is ages 10-18. That’s the facts no matter what is written about the tweens. It showed that people from 25-55 love this girl and think she is beautiful and talented. But still some would like to hold her back and Disney like Hollywood Records seem to be one of those. It’s hard to say why. However, even though they tried to push their girl Ashley—and I’m not downing her talent—on the fans in HSM2 they saw most people found that to be the weakness in that movie. And if they thought for a minute that they could have done without her in HSM3 then they are true idiots.

Frankly, we don’t know if Vanessa will ever work with Disney again. IF they are truly slighting her then she would be better off without them . Also in Disney’s defense they put out some really good movies. I just think they tend to be conservative in their thinking. I believe they think they can’t take their young stars like Zac and Vanessa and put them in a more grown up situation like to put Zac in the role Orlando Bloom had in Pirates of the Caribbean. They are very restrictive in their thinking. I guess they think fans would not accept him in a more mature role like Bloom did. But they are limiting him in that way. But once again we see the marketing of HSM franchise where most everything concerning that talks about tweens and teens. It has been proven over and over again on blogs like this how it is not just appealing to the teen world. As a matter of fact when I have gone to see the movie—4 times in all—there has only been ONE time where there were a lot of kids under the age of 15. Every other time I have see it I went to a matinee during the week when kids were in school and the theater had 90% adults there—and it wasn’t because they brought teens or tweens to see the movie. I don’t know why Disney, at times, seems to be limiting these kids.

Nevertheless, we CANNOT judge any of these kids full talent due to these movies. They were great but didn’t allow for a lot of acting range. ALSO, Disney did not promote Zac Efron over the others and that is why he gets the lion’s share of the attention. He is just the one who really jumped off the screen to MOST viewers. Here in the US when you watch new TV programs you find that many times there will be some virtual unknown that pops out at you and will become more popular or as popular as the star of the show. YEARS ago when Happy Days came on and it was made for Ron Howard, it was Henry Winkler who jumped off the screen at us and everyone fell in love with him. Things like that happen all the time and it isn’t Zac’s fault he was the one who’s charm, charisma, looks, talent—whatever—gabbed people’s attention.

ashley tisdaleeee fannzzzzzz @ 7:58 pm on 12/08/2008

you know, MAYBE just MAYBE

Disney tried to stay away from Vanessa because she, herself, said so..
While Ashley never exactly said that she wants to leave Disney, she just said that she would like to do something new and more…

so it’s kinda backlash or backfire on her..
of course, the scandal helps the “even worse” relationship….

Ashley did a great choice when she joins Warner Brother Records..

Karen @ 8:02 pm on 12/08/2008

Lastly, this talk of Zac and Vanessa needing to split up to further their careers is ridiculous. I can’t believe it is still a subject of conversation! What kind of relationship do you people think they have???? If it wasn’t that meaningful then they still wouldn’t be together and to say they should split is insulting and beyond LOW! As I said in my previous post none of these kids particularly Vanessa has gotten a chance to show what they have in their roles in HSM. So it is ludicrous to judge just by that. She has not had anything thus far to showcase her talent. So it is unfair. And it is also unfair to say she only gets attention because she is Zac Efron’s girlfriend. Compare the number of posts she gets to Zac’s and all those posts are not about Zac Efron! Also, compare the posts she gets to Ashley Tisdale, Jonas Brothers, and even Miley Cyrus! All that interest is not simply due to Zac Efron! So, get off the “they should split up and Vanessa would be taken more seriously”. One thing that causes such problems are those fans who scream for pics of “ZANESSA”. Zac and Vanessa are great together but they are also individual performers. So, they both would lose out if some are only interested in them together and thus for them to split up would not help them at all.

Why is Vanessa kept on JJJ and Suri Cruise get a new thread every day on JJ? Look at the NUMBERS! Not even Miley or the Jonas Brothers or Ashley Tisdale gets a fraction of the hits Vanessa does—once again showing that people are interested in HER. Jared can keep people coming to this site because of keeping her here although she clearly proved she is worthy to be on the JJ board. It is shameful on Jared’s part but it is the truth.

ashley tisdaleeee fannzzzzzz @ 8:03 pm on 12/08/2008

oh and to add, in HSM who stands out are Ashley and Zac.
I don’t know why…
Maybe because Ashley already has following…
and when people learn or start to like V, they become haters because suddenly she’s dating Zac ? hehehehe

I don’t know.. LOL….
but in foreign countries, people know Ashley Tisdale and Zac Efron. They don’t know Vanessa, Corbin, etc….

WHICH IS sad.. especially LUCAS because I think he’s the BEST.

ashley tisdaleeee fannzzzzzz @ 8:06 pm on 12/08/2008

sorry, but more comments doesn’t mean more fans..
Maybe it just because her fans have nothing to do ( like me. lol )…..
it’s kinda pathetic… sorry but I have to say it.
BTW, what more important is not discuss their career, etc.Yes, I think i should stop doing that too..
NOW, LET’S SEE
vanessa’s birthday is COMING…..

any idea?
lots of fansites already has contest about giving her birthday video .
any of you participate ?

Karen @ 8:28 pm on 12/08/2008

Ashley Tisdale may have been better known when HSM was first released and Disney used her to promote the movie with Zac—at first—probably because of it. But once people around the world got to watch and know Ashley it is clear who they fell in love with. I’m not insulting Ashley as her character is a great asset in the movie but the the proof is right here on JJ. As I said before, look at the numbers! Ashley, not even Zac comes close to getting the hits that Vanessa does. And don’t give me how she gets the hits just because she is Zac’s girlfriend. It isn’t the truth. Look at the last thread for Vanessa on JJ, the one with Paris Hilton. Look how many hits that thread got. And you can’t tell me that is because of Paris. How many hits does Paris get alone? People just want to use any excuse to make it sound like Vanessa is not a force to be reckoned with. And frankly, if you look at some of the photoshoots while they were tour it shows the photographers were obsessed with Vanessa. But again, that really makes some people angry and make some find more ways to make Vanessa seem less than what she is. It seems like right now many have jumped on the “she’s only popular because she’s Zac’s girlfriend” bandwagon. In a couple months someone will come up with some other angel and just watch, everyone will then be using that excuse.
