Zac Efron On Drugs? Say It Ain’t So!
It ain’t so.
But if Zac Efron signs on for the much-talked about sequel to the 2007 movie musical Hairspray, his character Link Larkin would!
Producer Marc Shaiman tells MTV that the sequel would be a true John Waters-type film. But what about the plot? He shares, “People hate Tracy (Nikki Blonsky) because she doesn’t lose weight. They ask ‘Now that you’re famous, why won’t you lose weight?’. And Link (Efron) experiments with drugs. Throughout half the movie, he has an ongoing dialogue with three pimples on his forehead. Edna (John Travolta) loses weight, but sees her husband (Christopher Walken) lusting after fat women. And so, she finally breaks down and runs over to a snack table. Just within one number, she gets fat again; gaining 20 pounds at a time. [Her fat] pops out, and by the end of the song she’s completely at her old weight again.”

No and i hpe zac says no as well he’s on hs way to bigger and beter things he needs movies that oush the envelope not se him back i hope zac refuses!
i really hope zac doesnt do hairspray 2. for one i dont like nikki can’t stand her and i wouldnt want to see zac and nikki’s relationship go any farther in the movie than it already has. it was hard watching zac and nikki kissing and it was nasty also. for 2 i can’t see zac playing someone that has to use drugs in the film. i love zac 100% no matter what and support him in anything he does and for any movie he backs but I just thing it would a work path for zac if he signed on for this movie.
i think that see he in a diferent character is cool, BUT i don’t like Hairspray! i saw the first only for zac xd ajajja but i don’t saw the end aajjaha.

EW! they better not make that! and wtf hair spray is just hair spray…there is no sequel. and the movie wasnt that amazing anway. and zac efrons main fans are 13 and under- they should not be seeing his character experimenting with drugs!! they’ll be influenced!!
I am a crazy musical theatre kid and saw Hairspray the musical with the original broadway cast, and I am so angry that they are ruining it like this. this idea sounds completely idiotic and if it is made I will not see it.
My opion is NO WAY sould they do a hairspray 2 its only popular caz its got Zac amanda n Brittany n John n the plot well its got a bad infulunce n the 1st hairspray is just a re-make of the orginal & it would all go down hill if they made a 2nd one
i hope zac doesn’t sign, because that would be an image ruiner. it doesn’t send a good message out to his younger fanbase. drugs? even if it’s a character, it isn’t a good role for him since most of his fans are tweens. i probably wouldn’t see it. the plot looks really bad.
“Hairspray” was a perfect film. I would love to see Zac play a hippee
form the 60’s as an another character in another movie. Linc Larkin
wa fabulous because of his style, clothes, and especially his hair.
If Zac decides to do this film, I will support him and trust his judgement that the script is great. I just hope he doesn’t sign on
to projects out of obligation or gratitude because he thinks he owes
certain people. I believe it’s the other way around, Zac is very talented
and popular and he is the one that will bring in an audience.
i probably wouldn’t go see it. it would be too much torture to see hottie zac efron do drugs, it would kill me.

I hate to say this but this plot is from the pen of John Waters (the writer and director of the original film) and this ain’t a joke. If I were to tell some of you younguns of the type of stuff this guy did in the seventies it would make your hair turn gray and fall out. But trust me as weird and off-kilter as this seems this is John Waters at his family friendliest.
Would I see it? No. As much as I like Zac I really think he needs to move away from musicals at least for a while. Not only that but this just doesn’t sound good. Some people have said that the “High School Musical” francise is this generation’s version of “Grease.” Well I hate to say it because I did enjoy “Hairspray’ but this sounds like it could be this generation’s version of “Grease 2″ and that is NOT a good thing.
I think it is the stupidest thing that they could come up with and for John Travolta to agree to it is stupid for one.
Zac the stupidest thing that you could do is a character that shows kids & teens that drugs are okay.
I also can’t standing Nikki, I also think that she started the fight airport with Bianca, Because she has become such a Diva. you can tell by the way that she talks like the interview with ET. about the love of whole body and heart and soul to Zac.

the mom gaining weighht quickly sounds stupid…………..but the drugs part might make t interesting……………it’ll be interesting to watch i think
They should just leave it with HS the sequel sounds bad sometimes it’s better to just have one picture and if that is a succcess like HS was then leave it at that. L8ike ‘Grease’ is one of my all time favourite films but I hated ‘Grease 2′ it just did’nt have the same chemistry with the charectors and the story was stupid.
Zac should say no but it’s his choice but with his films ‘17 Again’ and ‘Me and Orson Wells’ to lookforward to I feel that HS2 would be a stept back foir him. Both my daughter and I can’t wait to go and see ‘17 Again’ she for Zac and I think Matthew Perry is so funny I’m lookingforward to seeing that but HS2 I would’nt bother with.
I find it quite upsetting that this movie which is suppose to be so “funny” would have one of the main characters doing drugs. What’s funny about that? If Zac’s character makes it seem amusing to do drugs and talk to pimples then how many young people does this production team think they will send off to experiment with drugs? How responsible it that?
I must admit though that if Zac would do this movie then I would much prefer seeing him talk to pimples rather than Tracey Turnblad…

Wow…clearly none of you have seen the original Hairspray or know John Waters style at all. I personally love both the original John Water’s version of this film and the newer, more timid and tame, musical version put out last year. The John Waters’ lover in me thinks is is HILARIOUS and awesome and soooo freakin rad! I would love to see this version made, but if anyone thinks it is going to happen you are the ones on drugs. New Line will never allow for it to go into production as John has written it. They will tone it down and make it more happy go lucky like the version produced and marketed last year. No way will they jepordize their family film image and lose any of their target audience. I can see them keeping certain ideas he has come up with in this script but what we read is not what we will see IF the sequel gets made. Which again in my honest opinion I am not all too sure I want to see just because I hold this film and it’s story very dear to my heart and I am super worried about the story being ruined or made a mockery.
