Michael Copon: I’m Not Jacob Black…Yet
Hoping for the role of a lifetime, Michael Copon opened up to PopStar.com and dished about becoming a part of the Twilight empire.
The 26-year-old former One Tree Hill bad boy cleared up all the rumors floating around the internet about filling Taylor Lautner’s shoes in the role of Jacob Black. He shared, “I think that it is pretty clear that there are huge rumors going around the Internet about me up for the role as Jacob Black. At this point, they are only rumors. There are a lot of opinions going around on the Internet about this role. It is definitely a role of a lifetime and I would love to have that chance.”

and #16, i agree with yo. the casting people shouldn’t have made taylor appear so big and bulky or even have chosen him in the first place knowing that jacob phases cus now they’re fussing over how to make jacob appear bigger. ugh. god. they already made the mistake of giving jacob long hair.. he doesnt grow it out till he phases.

if steven strait plays jacob, since he seems to be a better replacement for taylor than michael, what if he can’t bring that little chemistry/connection that taylor as jacob and kristin as bella had in the first movie?

and what is the deal with summit not having enough money to do retouching? they did enough retouching in twilight, why can’t they do it for new moon? and hell, they already produced an epic movie and story, didn’t they get any money from that?

NO! Taylor Lautner is Jacob Black! It’s completely stupid that they want to replace him! Michael Copon is a wanna be hot shot who only wants the role because he already knows Twilight is huge but Taylor signed on even before Twilight mania hit. If they replace him…..

I think that Taylor should play Jacob, no offence to this guy but Taylor seemed to play Jacob really well in the short time he was on stage. Replacing Taylor lautner would be a huge mistake, fan girls will go crazy, it’s time summit started listning to us fans.
Michael and Taylor look almost the same! He could go for Taylor’s older brother really well lol
About the replace, I think it would be awesome, in book 2 Stephenie says Jacob looks like a 25 year old guy not a 16 yr old boy.
I’m pretty sure Taylor won’t fit the character well because of this, he looks like a baby, his not tall and strong like Jacob is in the book.
Anyways, I really don’t mind who plays Jacob, as long as Robert is Edward till the 4th movie I’m completely fine. I don’t like Jake anyway! ha!
please no! he’s cute and could probably play jacob black but i love taylor lautner as jacob. it bothers me when they change actors in sequels. if you know there’s going to be more movies make sure the actors you pick will be perfect for each installment.

It seems wholly unfair to take this from Taylor. No offense to Michael, but is he really THAT much more qualified? He’s no leading man, no amazing actor, no big name that will bring in an audience. Taylor Lautner got the role, he deserves a chance to keep it. Hopefully he’s fighting for it and they are giving him that chance.

Yes, you are not Jacob Black yet, so let’s leave it that way. Only 2 actors I have in mind for the role, either Taylor Lautner or Steven Strait. Just because Michael and Ben Barnes share the same Manager doesn’t mean both have to get in Twilight Zone. Ben for me is fine as Aro, but Michael? Sorry..
He might be hot (erm, he’s not really.. well that’s just me) but he has to be more convincing than that, that’s why they are called ACTORS. Those who has great bodies should be in modeling.. and if they can act, then be an actor.. Otherwise, PUHLEEEZE stay there!
