Michael Copon: I’m Not Jacob Black…Yet
Hoping for the role of a lifetime, Michael Copon opened up to PopStar.com and dished about becoming a part of the Twilight empire.
The 26-year-old former One Tree Hill bad boy cleared up all the rumors floating around the internet about filling Taylor Lautner’s shoes in the role of Jacob Black. He shared, “I think that it is pretty clear that there are huge rumors going around the Internet about me up for the role as Jacob Black. At this point, they are only rumors. There are a lot of opinions going around on the Internet about this role. It is definitely a role of a lifetime and I would love to have that chance.”

I’ve never read any of the books, but I saw the movie and though Taylor did a good job. This dude Copan kind of sucks, and creeps me out. He’s so opportunistic, gross. Keep Taylor, changing cast members in a movie franchise sucks, it always is confusing and pisses people off.
I’ve not even seen Twilight yet but if they swap Taylor for anyone I’ll be annoyed. Taylor to me IS Jacob - and though he isn’t 6″7 he definitely is broad shouldered and has muscles. For a 16-year-old his body is gorgeous (and I’m 20!)
I can’t imagine what Taylor must be going through with all this! Keep him for god’s sake and just do camera angles to make him look bigger, it’s not rocket science.

Ok, if anyone watched One Tree Hill when he was on it, seriously, not the best actor whatsoever. He’s not deep enough to pull off the angry Jacob we see right after his first change. He doesn’t have that raw husky voice Meyer talks about either. Sure he may be able top play a bad boy, but not for Jacob at all! Jacob’s character is too deep.
I think if anything should happen, they should keep Taylor as long as possible through New Moon, and then once all the changes start happening, bring in Steven Strait, IF they bring in anyone new!!! Strait should be the only option and looks exactly how the older/tormented/infatuated with Bella Jacob should look.
I believe Michael is a good actor, i mean i have seen his movies but right now in my mind i imagine taylor lautner as jacob black the whole movie will be ruined if they change actors. Why won’t they realize that! Taylor Lautner makes the perfect Jacob Black! They can’t change him. It’ll be total suicide to The New Moon Movie.

I dont like him! They CANT replace Taylor Lautner!! He fits it well! He’s way better looking than this guy! Besides, Jacob is supposed to be younger than Bella, so i think Taylor works just fine.. sigh.. Hope he stays put!

From the acting I’ve seen of him…NO THANKS…but I will say I heard his new song…beautiful. His voice/musical talents and looks are all I give him. Acting is a no go…especially for New Moon. Sorry dude.
Keep Taylor I mean that guy is cute and all but summit will lose a lot of fans. Look at the post you did on Taylor Lautner and Nikki Reed, he is trying so hard to gain muscle and keep the part you won’t find someone more dedicated to the part keep Taylor.

If they were going to replace Taylor, I’d rather it be with Steven Strait, who actually looks like Taylor and was Stephanie’s original choice for Jacob. But if not, I’d like them to keep Taylor, he’s adorable!
