Vanessa Hudgens Sings for Sa5m
Vanessa Hudgens chats away on her iPhone as she exits a recording studio on Thursday afternoon in Westwood, Calif.
The 20-year-old Identified singer was recording songs for her upcoming movie, Bandslam. Vanessa plays Sa5m, a 15-year-old girl who has a stuttering problem but breaks out of her shell when she gets involved in a battle of the bands competition. The movie also stars Alyson Michalka and former Friends star Lisa Kudrow.
Bandslam hits theaters in July 2009. Vanessa wore Wildfox Couture’s “Light Feather” raglan tee.
FYI: It’s also possible Vanessa was leaving a legal depositon for a 2005 agreement between her and former manager Johnny Vieira.

I agree#8. It isn’t arrogance…its confidence. In this business it’s a must. She has been misrepresented in interviews unfairly I believe, but alot of that is how young she is. AS of late her interviews are much better, and you can tell it is her confidence that is coming out…not arrogance.

Vanessa always looks pretty and Beautiful no matter what she is wearing.
I like the way she looks. She looks very beautiful. She becomes prettier and prettier in every candids.
Her hair may be shorter, but I’m pretty sure she has it pulled back and we just can’t see it all. Her hair around her face has always been shorter because its tapered. But, she has really thick hair and her hair here looks pretty thin. I’m sure she has it pulled back. Too bad they didn’t get a shot from behind. however, I am almost positive that in the past year, she hasn’t used extentions in her hair. Extensions always look manufactured to me and her hair has way too much of a natural flowy feel to it.
Some of my fellow ZA’s were able to read the script and how they say the movie is looks very interesting and well written. Vanessa will obviously shine in this movie.
So, the more news or tidbits about her in Bandslam, the more I can’t wait to see the movie!!
Her hair looks shorter, but not that much thinner. I think she just got a haircut, she had extensions late last yr/early this year but hasn’t had them recently, the last few months.

yeah i love her hair too…no matter what she does with it always looks so healthy, and she obviously know how to make it look really good. i still don’t see her extentions in that pic. I have dark hair and paid 300 dollars at an upscale salon in europe for extensions. If she does have them I have never seen anything more natural. Mine are sure more noticable than that. Sorry can’t see it.
As far as I know, Vanessa also wear extension but hers wasn’t as noticeable as let’s say Ashley because she talked about it a lot while Vanessa didn’t.
I believe her natural hair was curly which I actually prefer that way because I think she looks the best with the curls ( just like in HSM 2 )
but what do I know ?
all I know for sure is that the girl can pull off any hair style ….
I just wish people don’t bash Ashley anymore because she wore extensions or color her hair because frankly, everyone do that..

From the very beginning it was told how Vanessa’s character Sa5m in Bandslam had a stuttering problem. It has not been talked about in the past couple months but you can still read outlines of what the movie is about and it will state the character has this problem. That is why the character of Sa5m talks very slowly so as to control this problem.

Arrogance, I say not, making a point yes. She comes across to me as confident, sometimes hesitant, sometimes sassy, yes but never arrogant. When you hear Kanye West speak, that is arrogance.

Vanessa has worn extensions from time to time. The only difference is her extensions match her hair texture and style perfectly, so most people can’t even tell the difference. She looks gorgeous, but I do miss seeing her without the bangs. They cover up her lovely face, though she can pull off just about anything.
From what I’ve heard, Sa5m is suppossed to be a good role for Vanessa. Very different from herself, and from Gabriella, and I’ve heard that she pretty much wowed the cast and crew with her performance. I wish the best for her.
it annoys me that shes playing a 15 year old in a movie. she doesnt even look 15. im 15 and she looks a hell of a lot older than me.
she does seem very arrogant. yes, maybe the cast loves her. but shes sweet to them because theyre also just as famous, if not more famous, than her. an extra on the hsm3 set said if they tried to talk to her during the filming of the first scene in the movie [now or never], she completely ignored them and kept talking to olesya and ashley who were a few seats away. the extra said that most of the cast was very nice to the extras, ESPECIALLY zac, but vanessa was the only exception.

#92 thanks for saying that…we also have to remember that there always will be jealous people, hateful people, but that sort of story is an exception to the thousands of people who meet her and say the exact opposite, and can I say the even media and eye witnesses have said that more than any star on the carpet during their premieres, she stayed with her fans, signed more autographs, and kept a smile on her face. An arrogant diva wouldn’t do that.

The extras sign a contract which includes a clause about never talking to, looking at or interacting with the main talent. So if an extra tried to talk to Vanessa, it was at their own risk. They are lucky Vanessa didn’t go to some of the higher-ups and get that person thrown out. Now if Zac was nice to the extras, good for him, but he didn’t have to be.
I keep hoping she’ll move into her new house soon. Guess she wants to get it decorated just right first. I’ll keep you guys posted!

steph, that is unfair to base an opinion about someone’s personality on a secondhand story from one person. Like Ashley said above, the extras are NOT supposed to talk to the cast, and I’m sure there are lots of reasons for that. On set, they are working, and should not be distracted by fans trying to talk to them constantly. And it’s a security issue too. They weren’t allowing cameras or cell phones in there either, if I remember.
Based on all the stories and reports from all the HSM3 premieres, Vanessa was the one who lingered the longest with the fans. That’s a more appropriate place for her to greet fans and sign autographs, instead of on a working set.
It’s annoying that people don’t give Vanessa more credit in interviews. I think she’s come a LONG way, but people have to remember she was a teen doing all those interviews. Hello?? How much poise do most teens have?? That comes with maturity and experience with interviews, and I think she’s really more relaxed now. Why don’t YOU try to sit and be interviewed by people sticking cameras and mics in your face?
Geez. You gotta remember she’s still young……she has come so far, and still has a lot of maturing to do. I think she’s doing beautifully!!
herm, as far as the Extras comment,
it’s actually FORBIDDEN for extras to make a conversation with the casts.
So, if certain casts actually talk to them, that’s just because they’re lucky or something.
These person even though they’re famous, also have other things to deal with their own personal life. Some people like to be left alone most of the time. Or maybe Vanessa just simply having a conversation with Ashley and Olesya and some extras just disturb their conversation ? well Now I see where the mistakes lay.
I love how Vanessa OBVIOUSLY had hair extensions and just took them out, and people still continue to believe she never had them in the first place. Her hair is half as thick and half as long. Regardless, she still looks fierce!
I remember reading stories from E news that at the beginning of hsm3 filming Ashley would not talk to anyone BUT Vanessa and had body guards follow her around. But you learn not to believe everything you read and every rumour you hear. Some stories may be true but at most are semi truths or just lies and unless I see more evidence I don’t believe it fully.

The fact is stories are very EASY to spread over the internet and the majority of them are either lies or huge over exaggerations. So I never believe any story about anyone unless it has some kind of solid evidence to back it up.
When you are prejudiced in your mind, it does not help the situation that you will only try to affirm your prejudices. I am of the opinion that the radio presenter/interviewer in Australia, was intrusive no less and downright rude in the manner the questions were being asked and his response. I somehow felt his prejudice coming through from his account of the whole affair.
When a person chooses not to answer a question posed or evade it, how does that make a person arrogant and full of herself?
Steph, you are only 15 years old and so, do not believe everything other people tell you. You should make your own judgements by being an observer. There are countless videos from the papz and interviews, go view them before you judge.
I hope everything works out with her legal stuff. It’s a real dark spot in her career.

The length would be because she cut it. The thickness of her hair was always dependent on how she had it curled.Also products go a long way. She cut her hair early 2007. The last noticeable time she used extensions was around early 2008. Her hair would have grown back by now. Other than extensions/touch ups during the hsm3 promo, I think it was all her hair. Whatever though, believe what you want. It looks nice either way.
The Australian interview referred to here in this thread is pathetic and those people conducting the interview were absolutely obnoxious. First they try to make it seem like Ashley was so sweet and whatever and yet when the Disney people got the girls out of there—-I would say rescued them in this situation—those same interviewers were saying insulting things in regards to Ashley also. Those people were those kinds who were just looking to stir up some dirt and get noticed. That is the simple truth. Most likely it was not Vanessa’s fault she was late—at the very least it was not fair for these people who were doing the interview nor the people posting ugly comments about it to say such insulting and insinuating thing when they didn’t even try to find out what happened. They chose as well as the bashers here to make Vanessa look bad without knowing the facts which is like making up rumors and lies. So, what people really look to be arrogant here??
