God the people on this site have such a Nikki phobia it’s incredible! I loved him in HS and hope to see him reprieve his role as Link in HS2 which he DID say he’s up for.

I’m sure Zac and the rest of cast are really thinking of John Travolta and his family theses days with support and deep condolences.

I wasn’t going to say anything about this “zikki” thing but I can’t help it any longer.

I think the adults know what this is all about and why there’s such an obsession over this issue.

This has nothing to do with Zac or Vanessa or Nikki. It’s the concept of seeing a good looking guy with someone who has obvious imperfections. To know an attractive person can look past a persons physical apperance and love them for who they are on the inside. It’s almost like “Zikki” fans depend on Zac to hook up with Nikki to fulfil their own personal insecurities. You want to be able to look at them and say, if he can look past all that and he’s so good-looking, then other guys will began to realize physical beauty isn’t everything; if Zac and Nikki found happiness, then anythings possible for me too. Which it absolutely is but you can’t relay on these stars to make it seem possible for yourself. You need to have more faith and confidence then that.

This isn’t only about seeing an obese person with a fit person, it’s again, about an attractive person excepting somebody for who they are and not being with a picture perfect women/man that society thinks they should be with. I think that is also one of the reasons why a lot of people dislike Vanessa because they don’t want to believe their idol, Zac, would follow stereotypical hollywood standards and be with somebody who is physically beautiful. And “zashley” fans simply don’t like her because they want to see Zac with Ashley together(hence the name “zashley”).

Of course Zac has said nice things about Nikki and has complimented her for being beautiful inside and out which I am pretty sure he meant every word of. But, Zac and any other person male or female who is genuinely nice would say the exact same things and mean them. Not everybody out there enjoys hurting peoples feelings. You can compliment somebody without it having some sort of romantic meaning. If every compliment was meant to be romantic, then a lot of people would be in big trouble right now.

Fact is, Zac does pay attention to physical apperances when it comes to himself and the person he’s attracted to. Just because he’s nice it doesn’t mean he isn’t a typical guy with needs and prefrences. This is a guy who felt insecure about a gap that he had in between his teeth and got it fixed right away. He colors and highlights his hair and enjoys going shopping. He works out like crazy and is very involved with sports such as surfing. He tells Ashley and Vanessa to watch their carbs when they eat. That doesn’t make him arrogent or shallow, it’s just makes him who he is. He doesn’t have to change to make people happy, that wouldn’t be real or fair to him. You can be nice to other people and yet have your own desires.

Anyways, it really is too bad some people are so busy criticizing little things and missing out on something more beautiful. Like two young people sincerely inlove. Just be happy for him and hope you can find what he has with somebody who’ll love you the same way.

just to add my story to it… ( hehe )
I was just a big fan of Ashley and not Vanessa.
Seeing all those immature V’s fan ( even in Ashley’s fansite ) bashing Ashley made me angry (lol) and even more hate her. They often bringing up how she is ugly etc ( i believe that was because nothing else negative can be said about her at that time ), and when the nose job thing happened, the haters like rejoice and found their strength. (lol)
But then, I have one holiday and decided to go online ( message boards and spend time defending people ) and found that the HATE comes from both ends… ( APPARENTLY… i was naive I guess )
i am a big fan of ZASHLEY and never cared about Vanessa simply because I don’t know they are even dating and I just know that Zashley is cute.
Well, long story short, when I found out Zanessa is real, I can’t be more happy for them. But those immature fans showed up again and brush the truth in our face like it’s the end of the world for us, zashley fans. ( meaning that we can’t even make videos and saying they’re cute anymore, etc )….
Luckily, at that time, I already know the simple fact that nobody’s going to win in INTERNET FEUD anyway so I just shut up and do my thing to defend my girl as I can.
Now, I love both my girls, Ashnessa, even more than zashley or zanessa crap… hehehehe….
I just hope people stop this feud.
Now that Ashley has blatantly said that she’s not attracted to Zac in that way, and people still bash her trying to steal Zac. ( what the heck ?) I know that NIKKI must get the worst of hate from those “zanessa” fans who “fear” every single time Zac linked to someone…

Well, I just wish both happiness, and Zac too…

Well said. I couldn’t have said it better. Of course, any observant person realizes exactly what this is all about like you’ve excellently analyzed.

That’s why there’s no rhyme or logic to their reasoning, it’s very personal to them as it embodies the hope of finding someone like Zac.

That’s why you don’t see this kind of obsession from, say, Brittany Snow’s fans (who had more kissing scenes with Zac in the movie, and still hangs out with him even on V’s birthday).

And that’s why I’m not going to feed that obsession by reacting or responding to them and I hope other ZV fans would ignore them and focus simply on ZV and the joy we derive from observing them.

Life is too short to waste on unpleasant things.

Farrah- I think you’re 100% right about this. I’ve always thought that was the reason “Zikki” fans just could never let go of the idea that Zac/Nikki were/are secretly in love with each other. It’s just such a nice idea that someone that looks/acts like Zac could be in love/have feelings for a person that is so not the norm. And, again like you said, they are so bothered that Zac dates somene that fits into the stereotypes of what is pretty and what is acceptable. I just wish that they could be happy that Zac is so obviously happy.

You know what Ashfan, it is good to hear you have come around to love Vanessa though. I am not a shipper. As much as I love Zac and Vanessa together, I follow them both as individuals even more. I love to hear stories of people who have come around especially after not liking one of them.
Let me encourage you to not base your opinion of Van on her fans. She is a great girl, and from everything we hear and see (especially from Ashley) she is the real deal. Don’t allow your opinion of her to ever be swayed by what immature fans may think. They all have immature fans.

I agree with you, Farrah, but as Naomi said I think all of us adult fans have known those things all along and many of us have said those things in various ways over the past year of more. But as Farrah has said there are many of us who are basically nice and do not wish to hurt people’s feeling—and it doesn’t matter that we are on the web where nobody will know if we are crude or not.

However, another thing that people seem to forget or just not consider is the fact that Zac was already smitten with Vanessa BEFORE he ever met up with Nikki. He even admits he noticed her at the premiere of Thunderbirds and even tried to introduce himself to her at that time. It was apparent how he felt about her from the backstage videos while they made HSM1. Then they went off to do other projects—him to Toronto to do HS and she went off to do the HSM concert. But it has been reported numerous times how they burnt up the phonelines and saw each other whenever they could. Now, they supposedly agreed they should date other people if they wanted since they would be away from each other for a while but that never seemed to happen. And as soon as Zac was done filming HS he quickly went back home to Vanessa and even moved to LA and got an apartment only a couple blocks from her. He took her to the HS premiere in LA where it was reported they sat holding hands and she went to Australia with him for the premiere there. It is more than clear where his heart was ALL ALONG when he was in Toronto filming HS.

Those rumors of him and Nikki were started by gossip magazines and/or PR people from the movie anyway as they didn’t care if he had a girlfriend already. It is like on the set of Ocean’s 13 the PR people there tried to start a rumor that George Clooney was having a thing going on with Ellen Barkin. It was to drum up interest in the movie. Maybe it was just clear to people who are old as me but after the movie came out someone asked Barkin about this and in her usual way she was blunt and honest and said the same as I knew alll along—it was done for publicity purposes, although she said she was quite flattered! LOL
