Zac Efron relaxes outside in the sun as he lunches with some female friends at the trendy Chaya Brassiere restaurant in Beverly Hills on Friday afternoon.
After finishing up his lunch, the 21-year-old HSM hunk joined girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens for a screening at Warner Brothers Studios.
Zac will join the likes of Sandra Bullock, The Jonas Brothers, and now Johnny Depp to present at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 11th.

Ever heard the saying that those who hate others only hate themselves more. Zac is happy with V, but it’s not a crime to smile, it’s not a crime to frown. He had lunch with some women, big woop! My guess is that it’s a work thing. V has lunch with guys a lot too. Those two are so secure in their relationship it’s wonderful to see. Especialy when you see them about town and with no paps. This is a message to zac is a rat and to all other haters:
What exactly is your understanding of love or realtionships,and what did zac ever do except be an amazing boyfriend to vanessa. So what if he was hanging out with other women, maybe they’re his cousines or secon cousines, or maybe thet’re old friends.The point is that it isn’t your business, and it says right there that he met up with vanessa for a screening of something.Also you seem to constantly complain that zac doesn’t show enough affection to vanessa,and that’s something that confuses me.In your opinion the only time he shows affection is when he’s shoving his tounge down her throat. Let’s get one thing clear Zac is not like that attention rat Spencer Pratt, he understands what a real relationshp means and he does everything he can do to keep it a private matter. In my opinion I’d rather see them sneaking glances and holding each other that to see them kissing constantly, because that really shows you the depth of that relationship and what love really mean. But you’re right….these two ARE very protective of their relationship, because they know so many things can rip it apart if they let it. Of course Zac is smiling; it looks like a business lunch to me. I have no idea why people expect him to smile at the paps when he’s with Vanessa. They totally invade his privacy and shout ridiculous, and at times, offensive comments at them. Why would he smile then?
I also think they’re laying low these last few weeks, being careful about not being seen together. They have their promotions coming up in Japan, and they don’t want everyone oversaturated with pics and stories about them before they go. They’re pretty savvy about how to handle themselves. I’m not too sure Vanessa will go to Golden Globes with him either for that reason.

If people would only learn to READ then maybe we would NOT have these silly comments of “I hope they didn’t break up” or “Did they break up?” Jared clearly states Zac had a lunch with FRIENDS—who obviously were females—and he also clearly says after that Zac met up with GIRLFRIEND Vanessa Hudgens. What is it that you want, people? Or are you who write this stuff from the gossip magazines and trying to get something started on these boards? Are you afraid there won’t be enough comments or are you trying to bait posters into saying something you can use when printing your yellow journalism?
Nash, I know a lot of you who are 14-16 years old take a lot of heat for some of these stupid comments made but I know it is not always your age group who say ridiculous comments and as some of us have said in the past, some younger teens really do have a good head on their shoulders. Ok, going by the pics, this is what I see. I see Zac sitting outside a restaurant, possibly on the patio when two older ladies come by and take a pic of him and then ask him for directions to somewhere, like they’re either lost or confused on how to get to a certain place. I don’t see any evidence that they had lunch together at all, even in the pics from the Gossip Girls site. You can see Zac pointing as if to tell them where they need to go (directions).

#66 I 100 percent agree with you. My husband and I have been married for 23 in a half years and we have our own friends just like Zac and Vanessa have. And trust me, if they broke up, it would be plastered all over the internet, tabloids and news stations. They are just doing what needs to be done with their other activities and then they will join up and be together for the rest of the day.

There are some new pictures of Zac leaving a place called The Buffalo Club Party on the 9/1/08 and for someone who suposedly does’nt like the press for once he is full of smiles even though their in his face, but suprise suprise another night out without Vanessa. Seems all his talk of not liking the pap’s is rubbish, he looks very happy to have them flashing away at him. Not seen Zac look that happy in a long time, it seems that Zanessa will soon be over once Japan is done with. And I would’nt hold your breath for a sighting at the GG either.

Was wondering how long it was going to take Zac once he reached legal drinking age to start showing up coming out of clubs the excat same places that he said you would not see him in as their not his thing.

Your guessing leaves a lot to be desired, rat. If you would actually check things out you’d find out he was at the Buffalo Club with other people like Reese Witherspoon, Kieffer Sutherland—people who are going to be part of the Golden Globes. It happens every year. It isn’t like he is there to drink and check out the club—it had to do with business as he is contracted to make a presentation at the Globes.
I don’t understand why when there is a pap picture of Zac or Vanessa when they are alone they are judged by how they feel by whether they have a smile on their face or not. Vanessa looks sad so that means she is having trouble with Zac. Zac has a smile on his face so that means he is happy to be away from Vanessa. Doesn’t that sound totally STUPID to ANYONE???
What is going on with Vanessa in the situation she is pictured in is totally different than the situation Zac has been photographed in. Maybe what was going on with Vanessa was a more serious and sombre occasion and wit Zac his moment was a light-hearted and funny one. SO, Vanessa isn’t smiling ear-to-ear but Zac is and it has nothing to do with their private relationship. Why is that so hard for some of you people to understand??? If some of you are old enough to be in a relationship with someone do you think your significant other might be smiling at some point when you aren’t while you are away from each other?
That picture of Zac looks more like those women are fans who just happened to see him, talked to him, got a picture of him, and then asked for directions. They could have been relatives or friends he has know a good portion of his life and happened to have lunch with OR it could have been a business meeting they had together. There certainly didn’t look like there was even an ounce of flirting there and they certainly don’t seem like anyone he would be interested in.
And lastly, let me make this clear. It is much easier to be who you are and not feel like you have to put on a show when you are comfortable and love someone. I don’t feel like I have to sit around with a chesire-cat grin on my face every second when I’m with my husband. It doesn’t mean I don’t love him or that I don’t want to be with him. HOWEVER, if I am around someone I don’t know very well or am just meeting I want to make a good impression and put those new people at ease so I smile more and laugh and talk more so as to appear friendly and put them at ease. It is sometimes called charm or tact. Try to understand that and maybe you won’t feel the need to worry so much. Or maybe if you can’t help obsessing over whether or not Zac and Vanessa are having problems you should move on and find some other interest.
I know that rat is never going to stop posting stupid comments because he/she likes to get attention—probably the only person rat has to talk to—but I also have begun to have another thought about rat and that is rat posts these things not because he/she doesn’t like Zac but because this person is trying to get people like us older fans to post something logical on a regular basis so those who are insecure about Zac and Vanessa will have something that will make them feel better.
Think about it, rat says all the same things and 99% of people either ignore or disagree with the comment. SO, rat certainly isn’t recruiting any believers to his/her side of the coin. And the rat prints the same thing all the time so I think rat is only doing it to get people to print positive stuff on here about Zac in order to boost Zac’s popularity. I don’t think rat is a hater at all. A closeted fan of Zac’s, that’s apparently what rat is.

E! has a red carpet special on now…….6:00 p.m. on the east coast
It will be televised from the NBC network and I see they are starting at 7PM EDT instead of 8PM when they usually start. They seem to be going to have a red carpet show also. But the coverage on the E! has been doing stuff as well as the TV Guide network since 4PM EDT.
Well, if rat is a Nikki fan than that really makes the rat even more pathetic than the majority of us originally thought. The only time Zac has given Nikki the time of day was when he was paid to do so. And the way Nikki has done over the past several months with her mouth, driving even some of her fans away, I seriously doubt that Zac is leaning towards giving her any more attention now.
