Vanessa Hudgens: ‘New Moon’ Rumor Control
Vanessa Hudgens has NOT auditioned for New Moon, her rep tells JustJaredJr.com.
The 20-year-old singer/actress reportedly auditioned for the Twilight sequel for the role of werewolf Leah Clearwater.
“I don’t know anything about the audition,” Vanessa’s rep tells JJJ. “As far as I know, it’s just a rumor.”
Seems that Ashley Greene’s comment about Vanessa was taken way out of context because SpoilerTV is reporting that the character of Leah isn’t even being cast for!
UPDATE: New Moon screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg confirms this report, saying, “If Vanessa is auditioning for the role of Leah, she’s written her own pages to read, ’cause I didn’t write ‘em.”

I think V is good but she’s not the right girl for Leah role.
She has too sweet face and to sweet voice for Leah . Leah is supposed to be like rough but still a beauty. V is more a sweetie.

if you havent read New Moon and your saying she should be in it then you cant say anything because you don’t even know what type of character Leah is and also Leah Clearwater is suppose to be strong and she is a werewolf and Vanessa wont be able to play the part she aint strong and she doesnt fit the characters appearance or whatever u say

why not?? many people are afraid that she cant play a strong role…Vanessa has lots of talent, but not because she was in a kid’s movie doesnt mean she cant play a bad girl or something else, if you know what i mean…she played once a mean and preppy girl in nickolodeon and also a funny and comic kid in the suite life before……she has been in an action movie, so why not try “new moon”…i honestly think she needs to get away from kids movies and try something different to shows us her hidden talent. i think she can do good….we just need to see and have faith. Vanessa can also play different roles, not just a sweet and inocent girl.

It is just a rumor and Vanessa is not being cast for the Twilight series New Moon. Apparently Vanessa is not interested in the part and did not audition for it. So just move on. There are plenty of movie roles out there for her (big or small movie roles). Vanessa is probably reading and studying movie scripts and deciding on which one to go for. Apparently Vanessa does have acting skills and talents, otherwise, directors would not have offered movie roles to her, such as Prom Night that Vanessa has turn down to work on her music. Currently she is in talk for movie role called The Adventure of Naughty and Deary.
Regardless of what the world think, Vanessa is living her deam life right now and enjoying what she loves to do.

How do you all know she can’t do it? It is called ACTING! And in the end it doesn’t really matter, Leah is hardly in New Moon, if she is, and if you don’t go to see the movie for that reason than you really aren’t a Twilighter, because you would still see the movie anyways.
Johnny Depp always plays different weird roles and he is the bestest ever. You don’t have to stick to one field of acting.
And, we don’t know if she did audition or not.
In the end, it doesn’t really matter what you people say. I doubt casting directors care whether or not thirty out of eighty people don’t like her.
I love her, and think she can do anything she wants to.

Btw, everyone hated Robert Pattinson as soon as they cast him, but fifteen minutes later everyone was all OMG I love him now!
Hypocrites… I still don’t like Rob, but I love Twilight, and saw the movie and actually liked most of it. I think he is a brilliant actor, he just isn’t hott enough to play Edward.

Love Vanessa and I love all the Twilight books but was very disappointed with the movie. Therefore, I don’t think I’d like her in the movie just because the first one sucked and I think the rest will. Just my opinion.
Look, not bashing on Vanessa personally or anything, but from what I’ve read, pretty much about 95% of the fandom (faithful to the books) do NOT want ANY Disney stars in this movie. The first movie used unknown, relatively unknown, or (in Kristen’s, and perhaps Rob’s, case) not AS famous people who pretty much keep to themselves. KEEP IT THIS WAY. I’m not sure, as well as thousands of others, that she could pull off Leah. That character is actually (most likely) way too deep for her. Not to mention the only people who want her in the movie are mostly preteens and teens who happen to watch HSM. Gag. So, no thanks. Just stick to relatively unknown people for casting and she can find another way to blast herself away from her Disney shadow.
OH…MY…GOD. Please, please god let this just be a 100% rumor. SHe would ruin, RUIN the movie. Sadly I would still see it but just no, no, no. She can’t act herself out of a box. NO.
Also, not to mention, Leah barely appears in New Moon. Now why, oh why, would a super-mega-awesome-Disney star be interested in a “little ol’ role” like Leah? Her over-priced acting “skills” would probably cost them a fourth of the budget allowed for actually making the film. Maybe wait until Breaking Dawn. She may prove herself by then with other movies that are actually good. (And no, Thirteen doesn’t count. Although that was a good movie, she didn’t do much more than whatever she did in HSM.)
Also, btw…LMAO…Wow, Vanessa Hudgens shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence as Johnny Depp. Did someone honestly just compare them up there? Ohhh goodness, what is this world coming to.

I think Vanessa would be very goood as Leah, but if she doesn’t get the part, I still think that maybe she should be in the remake of Footloose with Zac when he does that movie, as the part played by Lori Singer. I think she would be good. It would also give her and Zac a chanc eto work together again. Just my opinion
