Vanessa Hudgens: ‘New Moon’ Rumor Control

Vanessa Hudgens has NOT auditioned for New Moon, her rep tells JustJaredJr.com.

The 20-year-old singer/actress reportedly auditioned for the Twilight sequel for the role of werewolf Leah Clearwater.

“I don’t know anything about the audition,” Vanessa’s rep tells JJJ. “As far as I know, it’s just a rumor.”

Seems that Ashley Greene’s comment about Vanessa was taken way out of context because SpoilerTV is reporting that the character of Leah isn’t even being cast for!

UPDATE: New Moon screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg confirms this report, saying, “If Vanessa is auditioning for the role of Leah, she’s written her own pages to read, ’cause I didn’t write ‘em.”

I’m sooo glad that this isn’t true, I wasn’t sure whether to believe this or not at first, but i was really hoping that she didn’t get cast. I’m not saying she’s a bad actress, it’s just I can’t imagine her as Leah, she doesn’t seem to fit, she seems to nice whereas i’ve always pictured someone like Megan Fox for Leah. But yeah, glad this isn’t true.

thank heavens! she would have been horrible. her voice is too squeaky and high and girly….she could never pull of Leah. leah’s supposed to be a witch…vanessa’s used to playing the role of someone dating zac efron….hard job really…..she could never do a real role in a movie. thank goodness she isnt tainting the twilight series….(p.s. vaness stay away from taylor…hes mine)

I can’t really picture Vanessa being Leah. NO OFFENSE TO ANYBODY! ESPECIALLY VANESSA! She would be a great Leah Clearwater, it would just be really weird to see Vanessa not on disney channel. But, Hey, What do I know right? Everybody has opinions. Some people hate her. And others think shes incredable. So… She should audition! And at the same time she shouldnt.

I’m glad it’s a rumour. The girl can act but she has been moulded into a Disney tweenie bopper fantasy. I don’t believe she will be able to portray the real darkness of a vampire vs warewolf movie. Better luck next time V-judge
