Lucas Grabeel is New Moon’s Alec?
If Dakota Fanning nabs the role of Jane in the much-anticipated New Moon, who exactly would play Alec, Jane’s bloodsucker brother?
Entertainment Weekly is suggesting High School Musical’s Lucas Grabeel for the part. Alec is described as a pale boy who could be Jane’s twin. In Stephenie Meyer’s book, she describes him:”His hair was darker, and his lips were not as full, but he was just as lovely.”
People even has a poll up to cast your vote. Lucas is in the lead with 38%.

unfortunately he fits the part i am hoping though that in the movie he wont look as much like the HSM goodie two shoes that he had been but he could work. i hope that i am not thinking HSM while i watch the movie this September all i am saying is just plz dont make this another HSM

The people who want him as Alec are seriously disturbed and I agree no high school musical they already have their own fan base don’t contaminate the Twilight series!!!!
okay hsm haters…im not really a fan of hsm either but really you cant just hate someone cause of a few movies they did. its their job. they act in the movies they are chosen to do.
so he’s in hsm doesnt mean he couldn’t be good in new moon,
im a huge twilight fan and if dakota is cast as jane then lucas would be perfect to play alec with her.

Take NM as it comes, I’m sure that they will choose the best people for the parts.
Though it is funny that suddenly a lot of famous get rumored for NM. I never thought Twilight was SO important in film industry.
Don’t get me wrong, I love it, but I think the movie is a little overhyped. The books are WONDERFUL as they are.
As for the HSM thing, Lucas, Vanessa and co are breaking free (haha, get it? breaking free? sorry, inside joke -chuckles-) from the HSM franchise. They’re moving on to other things and you will hear more from them. Some of you Twilighters are really being hypocritical. Twilight and HSM are not similar and that’s why you don’t want it to cross right? Well, just because Lucas and Vanessa portrayed singing teenagers, doesn’t mean they can’t portray vampires (in Lucas’ case) or werewolves (in Vanessa’s case). It’s in the ACTING, not in their break through performances.

Can I just say that Lucas has been in other movies apart from High School Musical. So fair enough you don’t want Vanessa in it but Lucas is perfect for roles like this! He has been in an oscar nominated movie and he has many other non-disney related movies coming out. So STOP hating on him being considered a role in the movie! He is an AMAZING actor and the most talented out of the bunch in my opinion.

We really don’t need another High School Musical. Plus Twilight is not just geared towards little teenage girls. Other people enjoy it aswell, therefore it should try to reach a wider audience. Which is not likely going to happen if they cast all well known disney actors.
I’m also confident in that the people casting obviously know this and it will not likely happen. In the end whoever is best suited for the role will play it!

I think that JUSTIN BARTHA or HAYDEN CHRISTEN or LUKE FORD should play Alec in NEW MOON .
looks right for the part but hes too old. especially if theyre considering dakota fanning for jane.
I definitely think that selena gomez could play a part in one of the movies, maybe as one of the Volturi and i’d agree to lucas all the way! but NO VENESSA HUGENS….. lets limit the Disney stars…
