Lucas Grabeel is New Moon’s Alec?
If Dakota Fanning nabs the role of Jane in the much-anticipated New Moon, who exactly would play Alec, Jane’s bloodsucker brother?
Entertainment Weekly is suggesting High School Musical’s Lucas Grabeel for the part. Alec is described as a pale boy who could be Jane’s twin. In Stephenie Meyer’s book, she describes him:”His hair was darker, and his lips were not as full, but he was just as lovely.”
People even has a poll up to cast your vote. Lucas is in the lead with 38%.

Plz I am begging u here! NO HSM STARS in any twilight films! None in New Moon or Eclipse or Breaking Dawn! Not that I have anything against Lucas, far from it. I just think that Disney stars would ruin the whole magic of the Twilight Saga. Come on I am a true Twilight freak here! It’s all I ever think about! And for New Moon to be the best that it can be I don’t think any Disney stars would be appropriate. I mean they are good actors in there own way but not for a movie like New Moon.
omg you guys are so dumb! stop hating on hsm… if you dont like it.. then fine! but dont take it out on the actors! vanessa hudgens and lucas gabriel are really good actors… dakota fanning will be perfect for the role and lucas as her brother… no one should complain if lucas is alec, dakota is jane, and vanessa is leah! its not like you wrote the book or are making the movie! i hope this is how it turns out because this movie would be a even bigger hit! twilight was bad enough since the movie was off from how the book percieved.. might as well throw in some great actors to make this new moon movie better…

yes lucas would be great for the part. he would be a great match with dakota and he is a great actor. it should not make a difference if he was is hsm’s or not it is he career, his job people. they can’t lose by putting him in with this already great cast they can only win.

oh please… i really hope that this wont end up being a disney movie or something. the rumors! vanessa hudgens, brenda song. now lucas? oh come on! im hoping they’ll have someone who hasn’t been exposed that much. like the actors they had on the 1st movie. although i think dakota would be really good in playing jane. i had her on my mind while reading the book.

I don’t think Lucas Grabeel looks right. Anyway, Alec is supposed to rob you of your senses. He doesn’t look like he could do that. He’s too hyper in HSM.

I think it lucas would be great as alec. Imagine lucas making u feel nothing while u die. That freaks me out, but he would play d part well.

Lucas Grabeel would be RUBBISH as Alec. I think Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter) would be soooo much better (he is a lot cuter too!)

I dont think Lucas should be Alec hes been in HSM. Next thing you now everyones going to be singing and dancing and I dont think Lucas can be serious enough to play as Alec. AAAAANNNNNDDDDDD I believe they should only use unknown actors. Dakota is fine because to me she actually looks like Jane she just needs to cut her hair shorter and straiten it. But I dont want any Disney characters in it! Lucas just can go play some other role and just stay away from New Moon. He may look the part of Alec I just dont think he can be is THAT SERIOUS.
