‘High School Musical 4′ is a Go!
Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad and Taylor may have graduated and left East High behind, but High School Musical is far from over.
Disney announced today that High School Musical 4 will bring the franchise back to television in a music and dance-filled movie that will introduce a new cast of characters. The new Wildcats — Jemma McKenzie Brown, Justin Martin and Matt Prokop — introduced in the big screen High School Musical 3 are all set to return to East High’s halls.
In High School Musical 4, East meets West in a classic love triangle set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights.

NO WAY WILL I BE WATCHING THIS. Disney should know by now with the fans are no one in their right mind is going to watch this without the real cast. No one cares about those new kids, the press didn’t even care about them during the HSM3 press tour.
Disney is going to loss so much money from this. Three movies was the perfect amount. No one will watch it without the real cast. No one wants to see a bunch of want to bees.

Yeah… it’s a definite NO! All the other characters are horrible. That Jemma girl or whatever her name is can’t carry a tune to save her life, and the other two are just corny little kids trying to make it in a grown up world.

i think that it is great taht they want to keep the High School Musical craze going, but they ended in such a great note with the third film, and i think that this will just bring down the status. i mean it sounds like it would be interesting and all, but i still think that the original ones will always be the best….look at the classical ones, Greese…it was amazing and the second one really didn’t live up to the first because the same characters were not in it! that’s my opinion, but i’ll still watch it just to see how it is!

they left a legacy and their work will never be forgotten…ever. its a little sad though- i dont think they shouldve made hsm4 cuz its just not gunna be the same and it will be incredible hard for the new cast to ever have the same chemistry the original cast had. i loved watching them goof around on set…it was just awesome! nothing will ever be amazing as the original 3 hsm’s, but ill watch the 4th one…

The only way I’d watch HSM4 is if the original cast was in it, but considering they aren’t going to be in it there is no way im watching it. I feel like they’re gonna butcher it completely. Disney should have left High School Musical as a trilogy and end it where it ended for our original wildcats. Adding more to the story would constantly have people compare the new episodes to the original story. Though the story may actually be worth the while, they can’t prevent the audience from comparing and contrasting the new episodes to the original movie. If there was already critique in the creating the 3rd movie, how much more will there be for the television show.
More power to Disney for milking the cash cow, but they can only do so much.

No offence to the new people, but High School Musical 4 is just going to ruin the memory and the franchise that Zac, Vanessa, Ashley, Lucas, Corbin and Monique have created. I don’t want to watch something that’s under the same name as three amazing movies but aside from the fact that they go to the same school, it just won’t feel the same for me. It’s too… different, even just thinking about it. Disney need to stop being so greedy. They need to accept that it has ended now but it was awesome and is probably going to be the most successful movie Disney will be remembered for. Please don’t ruin it with a HSM4.
The storyline sounds promising actually quite interesting IMO but the fact is HSM was something that was fresha nd new doing hsm4 is all about money nothing else, the main issue for me is I saw the original cast grow and do better things it’s like the last song in HSM3 we’ll always have it dont need another movie to muck it up jut sayin.

jemma- i’m sorry. she can’t sing, but her acting is OK. And it was entertaining to see, sharpay kick her butt during the finale’ performance xD
matt and the other dude- were def funny, with corbin and zac.. but as themselves.. who knows =/
SINCE it’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL = meaning, these new casts are part of the new gang now, since everyone is off to college.
I guess, the 6 casts are all grown up and wanna move on with their careers…
but i hope they ATLEAST do a reunion or something..

Why would Disney be so darn greedy and try to market on what has been good to them and done with, why ruin the hand that fed you? That’s the problem with today’s society they just don’t know when to quit while the going was great!!!! The only returning one is Ashley and honestly, it’s just not worth seeing again, HSM2 was a flop due to her I can just see the next 3 installments FLOP! FLOP! FLOP! Disney should let it rest and move on to another chapter.

I agree with #61. Honestly, I never really liked Disney in the first place. Don’t get me wrong, the classics were great, but besides that, I’ve always disliked Disney. High School Musical was great, and it insipired me to do so many things (It sounds really corny, I know, but it’s the truth), but they really should not make a fourth movie. Like #61 said, it’ll ruin the memory that the original cast created. I mean, really, at the end of HSM3: Senior Year, there was a FINAL curtain. I agree with most of the comments on here. Disney just doesn’t know when to stop; Disney is greedy. And they absolutely cannot recreate the genuine chemistry the original six possessed. After the fourth movie has become a failure, I’m crossing my fingers that Disney has learned their lesson. I’m trying as best as I can to see the bright side of this horrifying news, but there simply is no bright side. But then again, they never do. I know I’m being very harsh and biased right now, but people are entitled to their own opinions. I’m ranting, so I’ll shut up now. (x

I am one of HSM’s biggest fans… but i dont want a 4th movie… the ending to the third one was perfect… this movie is going to change HSM. I didnt love the new characters in the 3rd one and these new guys are going to take over what our favorite charcters left behind.
Some one should start a petition against Disney doing this to show just how unhappy fans are that they are doing a 4th one.

HSM4 should be giving a chance to see how the new casts will carry the new movie forward. The three already have said that they are not duplicating Troy, Chad, and Sharpay, which the three new characters are developing their own characters. However, Jemma’s character, Tiara, is a replicate of Sharpay’s character. Jimmy and Donny are different to Troy and Chad.

I love all 3 High School Musical movies and I thank disney so much for them. When I first saw Zac and Vanessa in High School Musical 1 I fell in love with them both and I wish them both the best in their life and career and they both deserve it all. Zac and Vanessa are both amazing and I will support them both forever in everything they do. Now on High School Musical 4 yes I will probably watch it but no I don’t think I will love it but we will see.
I’m not excited about it, and I’m a HUGE HSM fan. I wish they’d just stop at 3, it would be perfect. Gotta admit I will watch it on TV out of curiousity - but it will NEVER be the same without the original cast. It’s just not the same, and by continuing to make more of these movies with the new characters, they’re ruining something that began with such amazing, humble beginnings - ironic how it sometimes turns out in the end.

disney should and probably do know that hsm would have been nowhere near as sucesful as it is if they had a different cast. People watched hsm to see what will happen to troy and gab, what sharpay would get up to, and so on.
They left off at such a good place, and the whole franchise will be ruined if they continue, but i do think loads of people are going to watch it just to see what it is like, but they will loose a lot of money.
The 6 main cast are legendary, yno, the first people, and they all had amazing chemistry (especialy z &v) and in my opinion, they shoodnt of even had new characters!
All im saying is that they are making a big mistake.
And have you noticed due to the sucess of hsm, all of their movies are following a similar story line? (camp rock) They should just stop, cos those people who made the disney channel what it is today, are being forgotten and pushed out of the way.

No, I will not be watching #4. I loved HSM, HSM 2 & HSM 3! If it wasn’t for the cast of the original movies, I wouldn’t have watched them. Zac and Vanessa were what made HSM such a hit for me. Love them (and all the other main cast) and for sure will not watch without them.

Ok Disney it’s time to get off the saga bandwagon. Just because you found success in the first three films doesn’t mean that you can drum it to death. People get tired of the same ol’ thing and they feel that the new east high wildcats couldn’t hold a candle to the previous attendants. So Disney I ask you to take the advice from your song in the first High School Musical and “Start Something New.!”
