HSM4: No Matt Prokop!
Sources tell JustJaredJr.com that Matt Prokop will not be involved in High School Musical 4.
The 18-year-old actor posted a MySpace bulletin earlier today, saying, “Not only will HSM4 not feature your loved wildcats: Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad, and Taylor, but I will also not be apart of it. Disney decided to go with a completely different story line. I’m so thankful to be apart of HSM3 before they decided to change everything. Enjoy the new characters……. whoever they will be. Matt.”
True or not, JJJ can reveal that Disney will start casting HSM4 in late summer 2009.

I probably wasn’t going to watch it anyways. I mean, I love the HSM series, but I think they’re done because the whole cast isn’t coming back. If I actually was bored and there was nothing else to watch I would have watched it, only because Matt is funny. Now I won’t.
I loved Matt in HSM3 he was sooooo funny. How the HSM’s done have a chance.
I wish the old cast would come back or something, but that probably would be bad because all their careers are going in diff directions right now.

First they are trying to continue the franchise without the original characters, but now they are not even going to involve the new characters that were introduced in HSM3.

I can not believe that they will make a HSM4 for real! It will ruin all the other HSM that they did before! I’m a huge fan of HSM 1, 2 and 3. But I think that the whole Wildcats story should stop where it ends. It was a so beautiful ending and i don’t see any other actors who could replace Vanessa, Zac, Ashley, Monique, Luca and Corbin. It’s a different cast, director and story. Why don’t they just change the name of the movie or start a new series. That would be the smart thing to do.
Hsm ended with the first three. It was what it was and now it’s done. No need to drag it down with this crap. Disney is not going to get much out of this, they are literally ruining their own franchise. But Disney isn’t one to understand what overkill means.

I honestly think making another High School Musical -not only without the original cast that made it such a huge franchise -but making it a totally different story line is in my opinion, ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS. Isn’t that why HSM3 supposed to be so huge anyways? Because it was supposed to be the last one, the BIG one the one that got into theaters? I don’t know, I think Disney will lose a lot of fans and a lot of money once they come out with the fourth one.

That is a real shame. I have no intention of watching HSM4 since original people who made that franchise a winner is now gone and since they are gone if they want to proceed to make a movie about this—and it’s just that Disney thinks it can make money from it—they should change the name somewhat I’m afraid it shows how Disney has underestimated those 10 people who meshed so well on screen and made a little story about high school kids who could sing and dance come to life. Each and everyone of those 10 characters were special.
I intensely disliked the Tiara character and she is the one I would have thought would be written out of future movies if they were going to be made. The character of Donny was neither here nor there—he was OK but was not given much to work with as his character was never meant to be there in the first place. So, it wasn’t his fault. Frankly, Matt grated on my nerves some but he most certainly showed he had comedic timing just like Ashley Tisdale did and he was the only one of the new cast members who I thought showed any promise for another movie. I wouldn’t see him as a leading man but he did have some outstanding moments in the movie that was worth watching.

I think Disney would be making a HUGE mistake not to cast Matt in HSM4. If the original characters won’t be in the movie, they need to have characters that people will love. I, personally, fell in love with Matt from the second he got on camera. He brought positive energy to the movie whenever he was in it, and it seriously will suck if he’s not included in the next movie.

Kinda agree with #28. I will probably watch HSM4 at some point, but I won’t be planning a sleepover for my daughter and her friends on premiere night like we did for HSM 2 & 3.
I REALLY believe that Disney should hold out a few years, and then attempt to bring the original cast back for a “High School Reunion” and feature a wedding or two and catch us up on their college years, etc.
I love Zanessa and adore the other actors/characters who’ve put their hearts and souls into this phenomena. I wish Disney the best, but hope they don’t get burned by pushing this one too far too fast.

Honestly, I loved High School Musical and I still do. Yes, if they released another one, I would still watch it but it doesn’t mean I will enjoy it as much. The movie is NOTHING without the originals. Disney are just being greedy by making another one to make more money. I hope the 4th one isn’t made.
what was the point of introducing his character in hsm3 if they weren’t going to use him in hsm4? now i wish that they hadn’t introduced the new characters in hsm3…it would have given more screen time to the original 6 and changed the storyline somewhat.

no offense but i wont watch HSM4 if the original cast isnt gonna be there…All the memories of the cast are tied like chains and if that chain is broken..would you REALLY think anyone else would watch it? i mean 3 years of HSM was great because in every movie Zac, Vanessa, Ashley, Corbin, Lucas, Monique, and the WHOLE cast and crew worked together and if HSM4 is without them..i really dont see the point of even watching it…..What Made it Great was the Love the cast shared….Do you really want all the memories shattered into pieces because the cast ended HSM times.Yes There Grown Up Now..but think about it…Its One in a Million that anyone would find the love zac and nessa share..its one in a billion that anyone would find the same love the cast and crew share…and just because they are grown up now…doesnt mean they cant do the very last movie that will bring the movie to a REAL final end. I have ideas to help them but i cant share it with Kenny if the original cast isnt gonna be in it.
