Julianne Hough is ACM’s Top New Artist
Julianne Hough gets teary-eyed on stage as she accepts the award for Top New Artist at the 44th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday evening (April 5).
The 20-year-old “My Hallelujuah Song” singer got a big hug from boyfriend Chuck Wicks but was so shocked that she won, she ripped her dress on her way to giving her acceptance speech!
Julianne beat out fellow Top Artist winners Jake Owen and the Zac Brown Band.

They had already announced her as a winner of this category this morning, which I am absolutely sure she was informed of. So I dont understand why she is reported to be shocked when they announced it this evening. Maybe she just bottled up all the excitement this morning and then let it out tonite
