JustJaredJr.com Hannah Montana Screening!
Costars Miley Cyrus, Lucas Till and Emily Osment attend JustJaredJr.com’s screening of Hannah Montana The Movie at the Regal E-Walk Stadium 13 in New York City’s Times Square on Tuesday (April 7).
Miley (in Alice+Olivia belted sweater jacket and Lia Sophia bangles) shared all about keeping “continuity” throughout the movie. She talked about how she loves to tan and how that disrupted the continuity of the film — some days she’d be darker than others!
Emily, 17, shared about how she wears so many rings and the costume designer wanted to use them for “continuity.” She wouldn’t give them up, so the scene where she’s picking clothes from a clothing rack, those aren’t really Emily’s hands!
Lucas, 18, shared a funny story about Miley’s jeans ripping while shooting one scene. They ripped from her calves all the way up her thighs!

I am so exicted for the movie. But I feel like people lost the vibe. I think disney is going down. I mean the 3d movie of JB didn’t do well nor the hannah motana ablum. It did well but not as well as it should of. But anyways Taylor rocks

I think its because the economy is in a recession so people arent spending as much on movies. Parents arent giving their kids the money to see this stuff - and the Jonas 3D movie and this Hannah Montana movie are directed towards people without jobs…
Don’t worry though - I’m sure Disney is fine. The Jonai are still bringing in billions and so is Miley. There was an article in the newspaper on the weekend saying that Miley is worth over a two billion dollars to Disney! Which is insane but it means they are doing just fine.

I have said this before and I will say this again. You can’t compare the Jonas 3D film with this film. You can compare that film with the earlier Hannah/Miley best of both worlds concert film. Against that film, the Jonas 3D film failed, but against all other concert films it did OK. I don’t know what type of opening weekend this Hannah movie will do, but I suspect that it won’t come close to Twilight, and will probably be more closer to what Bolt did. However, it will do decent business for weeks to come, and ultimately will be a financial success.
The Hannah movie soundtrack album is another matter entirely. It did triple what the Jonas 3D album release did, but much less than the 2 previous Hannah soundtracks. This is largely the result of most of the music being a country vibe, as opposed to the pop vibe of the previous two albums. But being a movie soundtrack, it will continue to generate decent sales so long as the movie does decently at the box office. And the Climb has been a big success, and is well on it’s way to becoming platinum for single sales.

The JB movie actually did good. They just don’t count presales for some reason. I’m sure Miley’s movie will do good too.
What other movies are going out the same weekend as hers? We should take bets on who will top. lol.

I agree with some of what you said and disagree with other aspects. I don’t really think the Hannah movie and the Jonas 3D movie was geared toward people without jobs. It was geared toward a middle class, who for sure has lost jobs, but that class is still the dominate class that carries the american economy.
I agree that Disney is not hurting in ways some people suggest. They are strong, but there is probably no reliable figures to demonstrate exactly how much Miley/Hannah has been worth to them. The only other Disney franchise that near on par with Hannah, was the HSM franchise, and not the Jonas franchise. I am not suggesting the Jonas’ aren’t popular; they just don’t have the same merchandise sales as the previously mentioned examples.
@billythekid: The JB3D soundtrack was a live album with only ONE new song, unlike the HM soundtrack that has ALL new songs. And I don’t think the HM soundtrack having country vibe would cause less sales. Taylor sells a lot of albums, and a lot of Miley’s music has had an atleast slighly country vibe to it. Perhaps it’s cause parents made their kids choose between getting the soundtrack or seeing the movie?

The other two big films out on April 10th are Dragonball Evolution, and Observe and Report. I have already checked out “fan” reviews on Dragonball Evolution and they have been overwhelmingly critical. That doesn’t mean people won’t still go to see it because it is based upon a very popular game. I don’t see many girls lining up to see this film, but I can see lots of guys/boys wanting to see it. Observe and Report? Who knows what this film will do. The Hannah film has gotten all the press but the bottom line is that this week will not be “Fast and Furious” :).
