Zac Efron: ‘Gypsy Was My First Audition’
After doing an interview at MTV studios, Zac Efron chats away on his phone and heads out for Late Night with David Letterman in NYC on Monday afternoon (April 13).
The 21-year-old actor, who appears on the May 2009 cover of GQ, appeared on The View early this morning.
Zac shared with the ladies about his first audition, “My mom asked me if I wanted to audition for musical theater because I was always singing and dancing around the house — they were pretty annoyed by this at the time. So, she asked if I wanted to go to Toys ‘R Us or somewhere one day because I had wanted to get an action figure or something. Little did I know, it was actually a trick. She dropped me off at this audition for Gypsy. I ran around in a news cap and sold newspapers. I got the part…I didn’t even get to go to Toys ‘R Us after.”

Have to say Love Zac in that suit and the colour suits him really well, mind you I think in most of the suits he wears they look really good on him, he sure has been busy the last few weeks.
Me and my kids are off to see 17 Again this Sunday as it’s my birthday on the Monday so it’s a treat for me as I love matthew perry to so I’m really lookingforward to it.
something bothers me a little. zac gets all the attention from the world because of his new movie (even when they were in the middle of the filming - prosses). Vanessa also has a new movie coming out –why can”t she get a little atention from the world to? Why can’t she be on more talkshows, article and all that? I just think its a little unfair, thats all.
Even though zac is a good actor, vanessa has just as much talent.

Zac’s movie is coming out next week and has already been released in other countries. Of course he is going to get attention. I don’t know what middle of filming process you’re referring to because he was not doing promo work while filming any his past 3 movies.
Vanessa’s movie doesn’t come out for at least 3 more moths. You don’t start promo like Zac is doing, this early on. You’ll see Vanessa out doing talk shows/articles closer to the release date of her movie during July/August.

Of course he isnt getting married now. Why would he? Its obvious his main focus right now is his career. In the industry he works in,he has to do things,while he is considered “Hot Propery” which he is right now. If he doesnt do things now all his oppurtuinities could fade away.
He has all his life to get married,if that is what he chooses. I get the impression he will do things HIS way and when he wants to do them.
Good Luck to him is what I say.
