Vanessa Hudgens Takes a Music Break
Vanessa Hudgens is taking a break from musicals for a while.
The 20-year-old actress dished to MTV on the set of her new flick, Beastly, that musicals and music aren’t in her immediate future.
She shared, “I love musicals, I really do. I grew up doing them, so it’ll always have a place in my heart … at the same time, it’s nice to be able to separate the two and just be able to focus on films. It’s a lot of fun playing different characters and taking on new journeys.”
Vanessa continued, “Honestly, I’m kind of taking a break from music right now. I’m just focusing on films and acting. I feel like when I’m doing something I really want, [I] focus on that and try to not spread myself all over the place.”
Miss Hudgens is currently filming Beastly in Montreal, Quebec.

She’s growing into such a mature, responsible and focused young woman.
It takes a strong sense of self and courage to stop yourself from drifting along with the bandwagon, assess where you want to go and what you want to achieve, and make deliberate decisions to head there not looking to the left or right nor considering what people would say.
It’s been great to see her get this far and anticipate where she’s headed.

I think she’s smart to focus on one thing at a time. This is the time for her to move on in her acting career, and frankly, she won’t have much time for her music. I’d rather she work on one, and do it well, instead of spreading herself thin.

The problem is, JJ who basically runs the main board really loves Vanessa. However, here on JJJ….well, it isn’t run so much by JJ. The people here have been accused before of being Ashley fans. I wrote about this on another Vanessa thread pointing out certain things and quickly there was a “poster” who complained that some posts were too long which seemed to me to be in response to my post. It also seemed to me that it was only due because I hit a “nerve” which was probably the truth.
I would love to see Vanessa and Zac get everything at the TCA’s but with all the campaigning going on against them I doubt that will happen. But everyone should know this: who gets followed around by the paps all the time—without having to twitter about where they are? I have a feeling from what I see…Vanessa and/or Zac being part of the Oscars or them at the Golden Globes and many other prestigious events that they are far more “in demand” and their photos bring more money than some other’s do.

I’m not sure when or if it will be finalized or if she’ll actually have time to film it. If she isn’t doing a third album, she’ll have time as soon as the new year starts.
I do not understand is that if you sucker punch is scheduled to be in theaters in the 2011 film sucker punch because this year I feel I have time to film until 2010.

I agree with her choice as not to make an album at the current moment. I also agree with her choice to do movies it’s a more stable job choice. In 2006, after HSM1, Vanessa was offered a lead role for a movie, Prom Night, and she turned it down to do music. Plus she had other movie role offers as well. It appears that she is more in demands for movie roles by directors and producers now. Since Vanessa is more in demands for movie roles, she should take advantage of this move towards her acting careers. Plus the last two law cases have been involved with her musics. By filming movies will be more of a stable salaries for her, because she probably be paid upfront.

I won’t pull the race card as I certainly hope any slight of Vanessa has nothing to do with such a situation. But I despise jealousy just as much or simply wanting to push your own favorite. It is not Vanessa’s fault she is favored by so many producers and directors nor have most of us downplayed anyone else’s talent.
Those 10 wonderful actors from the HSM franchise were all beautiful to look at, very talented, and charming. However, both Vanessa and Zac just had a charisma, an “IT” factor that drew people’s attention more than the other ones. It wasn’t their fault, it just is. Neither Corbin or Monique are white and has that hampered their careers? Perhaps. We know in Hollywood black actors have had it tougher. Corbin seems to be doing well, however, and I hope his new TV series will propel him forward in his career. So, I can’t say the fact Vanessa is not 100% white is why she is scrutinized so much. Frankly, I think a good part of it is simply she is beautiful and because of it she gets noticed. Because she gets noticed makes some people resentful and believes she gets the breaks because of how she looks. Well, I hat to have to tell everyone but that’s life no matter who you are.
But having said that, at the end of the day even if she was given the opportunity because of how she looks, she still has to deliver the goods. People will only watch some shoddy performance just so long. So, she has her cross to bear also which can be her looks. Think about it, in school how many times do people say horrible things or start vicious rumors about the girl—particularly the female—who is pretty and all the boys notice her? Resentment and/or jealousy—even if people don’t want to believe they are—-sets in and they get angry . They have to make it like she isn’t “all that” so they have to invent ways to make her look less desirable. Some think she has it all as a lot of females who aren’t so intimidated will want to be her friend too and copy her. Yet that same girl has the burden of enduring that “talk” behind her back and even to her face when she had no control over how she was going to look, etc. So, when those people think she has it so easy…it isn’t always the truth.
Basically, I think race may factor into the situation but I don’t believe it is nearly all of the problem.
Don’t get discouraged Vote for Zac and Vanessa. there are some
catagories that aren’t against “Twilight” actors and they can definately
win. Vanessa looks gorgeous BTW, and I love that she’s focusing on
her movie career, very smart move.

I’ll admit, I wasn’t a very big fan of hers after High School Musical 1. ..But since then she has grown on me, became my role model, my fashion icon, and a person that has given great advice on things. Vanessa has agreed to do Dead@17… Josh Howard confirmed it. They are just waiting to see if the movie is actually going to be filmed. They already have willing producers, and a rough script. He said they were waiting for Paramount to okay it, and it will be getting done, and that means she’ll be in it as the star Nara.
I think it would be great if she did it. It is a big hit in the comic world, and it will give her new fans. Plus, it could and should turn into a franchise, which would be great for her to do.
Her career is taking off right now.

Most of Vanessa’s film projects are involved with different directors, producers, screenwriters, or filming companies. Each of her films are not associated or linked to each other. Looking at some of Zac’s film projects like 17-Again is produced by Adam Shankman, the director of HS (Zac’s first movie film). His next film “The Death & Life of Charlie St Cloud”, the director is Burr Steer, which he was the director for 17-Again. Now the one he signed on to do a sexy thriller, where he will be the executive producer, the screenwriter and producer were also involved with 17-Again. Now if Zac would have done “Footloose”, the director is Kenny Ortega, which directed HSM1,2,&3. The one movie that is not related to all his previous projects is MAOW, which is a Indie movie. Zac is very fortunate that he strucked such connections to make his career easier.
Vanessa does not appears to have that type of connections, only by working hard and getting out on her own to meet these directors, producers, screenwriters, and film companies. I hoping that her talents and skills will capture the heart of one or more director/producer/screenwriters/film companies to struck-up that type of connections to make her filming career path easier. I hoping it will be Zach Synder of Sucker Punch.

She has unique beauty that made other people spot their hearts on her. Though even until now there’s still lots of people questioning her talent.
But I bet others, VANESSA after 4 years has proven significant career especially to her fans all over the world . She has started a career that will make her more known someday.
Despite the fact she had undergone and put herself in a devastated situation the girl during that time was only 17 were brave enough coping to such humiliation that’s because of her positive attitude .
Whatever races she has, will support her always. I was able to appreciate Vanessa because of that bad experiences. And even learn to love her more when I came to know that she has a filipino blood.

Production starts September 10 but the other girls have already started fight training. Vanessa will need to do fight training before filming.

this movie have to train martial arts, but vanessa is not affected because it does not have much free time to train for now. maybe after you finish beastly train when the shooting beastly. I hope that Vanessa will be time as the other girls take advantage because they have free time to do so.
