Vanessa Hudgens Takes a Music Break
Vanessa Hudgens is taking a break from musicals for a while.
The 20-year-old actress dished to MTV on the set of her new flick, Beastly, that musicals and music aren’t in her immediate future.
She shared, “I love musicals, I really do. I grew up doing them, so it’ll always have a place in my heart … at the same time, it’s nice to be able to separate the two and just be able to focus on films. It’s a lot of fun playing different characters and taking on new journeys.”
Vanessa continued, “Honestly, I’m kind of taking a break from music right now. I’m just focusing on films and acting. I feel like when I’m doing something I really want, [I] focus on that and try to not spread myself all over the place.”
Miss Hudgens is currently filming Beastly in Montreal, Quebec.

I’m glad, that’s the smart thing to do. It must have been hard when she was trying to work on the album and bandslam last year. I definitely do hope to see her continue with music in the future though.

The problem is, JJ who basically runs the main board really loves Vanessa. However, here on JJJ….well, it isn’t run so much by JJ. The people here have been accused before of being Ashley fans. I wrote about this on another Vanessa thread pointing out certain things and quickly there was a “poster” who complained that some posts were too long which seemed to me to be in response to my post. It also seemed to me that it was only due because I hit a “nerve” which was probably the truth.
I would love to see Vanessa and Zac get everything at the TCA’s but with all the campaigning going on against them I doubt that will happen. But everyone should know this: who gets followed around by the paps all the time—without having to twitter about where they are? I have a feeling from what I see…Vanessa and/or Zac being part of the Oscars or them at the Golden Globes and many other prestigious events that they are far more “in demand” and their photos bring more money than some other’s do.

i’m so happy for her, i mean it’s healthy to take a break fron musicals for her, because if she don’t everyone will see her as the musical girl, and she is more than that, she is so talented, and music is not the only thing she can do, so GO VANESSA.

She has so many good things working for her now in the movie industry so a pause or a slow down in the music genre is a good move.

I’m not sure when or if it will be finalized or if she’ll actually have time to film it. If she isn’t doing a third album, she’ll have time as soon as the new year starts.
I do not understand is that if you sucker punch is scheduled to be in theaters in the 2011 film sucker punch because this year I feel I have time to film until 2010.

Im glad she isnt focusing on music right now even though I have all her songs on my iPod I have to be honest right now people still see her as a Disney Darling and are gonna think her albunm is rubbish if she comes out with one now even though id still buy it =) After she proves herself and gains a more older dominated fanbase I think more people would listen to her music atleast thats what my 19 year old cousin told me

I think it is great that Vanessa is just working on filming movies and her acting career. Look forward to see all her upcoming movies.
A smart move on her part. It’s better to play towards your strength than to try to be everything. Now, if only other people(Beyonce and Ashley Tisdale, yes I went there) got the message.
