Vanessa Hudgens Takes a Music Break
Vanessa Hudgens is taking a break from musicals for a while.
The 20-year-old actress dished to MTV on the set of her new flick, Beastly, that musicals and music aren’t in her immediate future.
She shared, “I love musicals, I really do. I grew up doing them, so it’ll always have a place in my heart … at the same time, it’s nice to be able to separate the two and just be able to focus on films. It’s a lot of fun playing different characters and taking on new journeys.”
Vanessa continued, “Honestly, I’m kind of taking a break from music right now. I’m just focusing on films and acting. I feel like when I’m doing something I really want, [I] focus on that and try to not spread myself all over the place.”
Miss Hudgens is currently filming Beastly in Montreal, Quebec.

I guess that will give you rest and return to Los Angeles to see their parents and zac do not think the pass 2 months and a half in Montreal without returning to Los Angeles. I imagine you have already rented an apartment to live that long because in a hotel is expensive.
or believe that their parents are with her in Montreal or are parents who do not get into issues of working children

I agree with her choice as not to make an album at the current moment. I also agree with her choice to do movies it’s a more stable job choice. The sick part is that she has one more album commitment with Hollywood Records unless she can find a way out which I highly doubt that, oh well, chalk up another day in the music business, I do hope that they allow her to do her own music this time, we’ll just need to wait and see.@Karen: I have to admit you are right on the money with your comments, it’s been a long time that JJ’s staff hasn’t liked Vanessa partly due to she’s dating Zac and my hunch is she’s not WHITE!!! sad huh.
I hope she is talking about temporary removal of music,
and not a new album,

In 2006, after HSM1, Vanessa was offered a lead role for a movie, Prom Night, and she turned it down to do music. Plus she had other movie role offers as well. It appears that she is more in demands for movie roles by directors and producers now. Since Vanessa is more in demands for movie roles, she should take advantage of this move towards her acting careers. Plus the last two law cases have been involved with her musics. By filming movies will be more of a stable salaries for her, because she probably be paid upfront.

I won’t pull the race card as I certainly hope any slight of Vanessa has nothing to do with such a situation. But I despise jealousy just as much or simply wanting to push your own favorite. It is not Vanessa’s fault she is favored by so many producers and directors nor have most of us downplayed anyone else’s talent.
Those 10 wonderful actors from the HSM franchise were all beautiful to look at, very talented, and charming. However, both Vanessa and Zac just had a charisma, an “IT” factor that drew people’s attention more than the other ones. It wasn’t their fault, it just is. Neither Corbin or Monique are white and has that hampered their careers? Perhaps. We know in Hollywood black actors have had it tougher. Corbin seems to be doing well, however, and I hope his new TV series will propel him forward in his career. So, I can’t say the fact Vanessa is not 100% white is why she is scrutinized so much. Frankly, I think a good part of it is simply she is beautiful and because of it she gets noticed. Because she gets noticed makes some people resentful and believes she gets the breaks because of how she looks. Well, I hat to have to tell everyone but that’s life no matter who you are.
But having said that, at the end of the day even if she was given the opportunity because of how she looks, she still has to deliver the goods. People will only watch some shoddy performance just so long. So, she has her cross to bear also which can be her looks. Think about it, in school how many times do people say horrible things or start vicious rumors about the girl—particularly the female—who is pretty and all the boys notice her? Resentment and/or jealousy—even if people don’t want to believe they are—-sets in and they get angry . They have to make it like she isn’t “all that” so they have to invent ways to make her look less desirable. Some think she has it all as a lot of females who aren’t so intimidated will want to be her friend too and copy her. Yet that same girl has the burden of enduring that “talk” behind her back and even to her face when she had no control over how she was going to look, etc. So, when those people think she has it so easy…it isn’t always the truth.
Basically, I think race may factor into the situation but I don’t believe it is nearly all of the problem.
Don’t get discouraged Vote for Zac and Vanessa. there are some
catagories that aren’t against “Twilight” actors and they can definately
win. Vanessa looks gorgeous BTW, and I love that she’s focusing on
her movie career, very smart move.

i always thought that Zac and Ashley were one mile ahead but now she is diffidently wining the race
I’ll admit, I wasn’t a very big fan of hers after High School Musical 1. ..But since then she has grown on me, became my role model, my fashion icon, and a person that has given great advice on things. She’s definitely grown as a person and even though she has made mistakes, I still admire her. I’ll forever support her on anything she does. I love you Baby V !!

OMG I am so happy for Vanessa. Dead at 17 sounds amazing I can’t wait to see this side of her. And to make it even better she’s the main character !!!!!!!!!!!! Also the character she plays for SP (Blondie) I heard is the ‘tough’ one. Now I think Vanessa can finally break away from her Gabriella character and show people another side.

Vanessa has agreed to do Dead@17… Josh Howard confirmed it. They are just waiting to see if the movie is actually going to be filmed. They already have willing producers, and a rough script. He said they were waiting for Paramount to okay it, and it will be getting done, and that means she’ll be in it as the star Nara.
I think it would be great if she did it. It is a big hit in the comic world, and it will give her new fans. Plus, it could and should turn into a franchise, which would be great for her to do.
Her career is taking off right now.
