Zac Efron: ‘Sexy Thriller’ Star
Zac Efron is continuing to broaden his horizons as an actor.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 21-year-old actor is set to star in a new movie being described as a “sexy thriller.” But not only is Zac starring in the thriller, he’ll be an executive producer with Mandate Pictures’ Nathan Kahane.
The flick was written by Leslie Dixon, who has a few hits under her belt: Hairspray and 1999’s The Thomas Crown Affair.

Woooo…go Zac. He really is broadening his horizons :D. Exec. producer, pretty impressive. However I have heard recently of so many movies he is supposed to be doing that I don’t really know what to believe.

Really great news for Zac! This sounds like a movie he will have a lot of control of, which is important to him and his career at this point. He can make it what he wants. I like this better for him, than more teen themed movies. Just happy to hear something definite for him!!

He’s trying to make the transition smoothly, and not jump into it. Kind of like Vanessa is with Bandslam, then Beastly, then Sucker Punch, and Dead@17. You can’t jump from HSM to some crazy movie about drugs and prostitutes, that takes time… haha
I think this sounds great for him. I am so happy.
With this news and Vanessa doing the likes of Sucker Punch I’d say they have more than proved they deserve to be on JJ’s main board. I don’t believe the likes of Miley and the Jonas Brothers or Ashley Tisdale has so much to boast about. Then again, I believe that’s what causes the sour grapes around here and actually keeps them on this board. Some forces don’t like the fact that these two of “self-starters” and are savvy, etc. I’m thrilled that they are using there clout right now to move forward in a positive way in their careers. They are not using their “fame & fortune” to be seen at nightclubs falling down drunk, etc. They are keeping their heads and not getting carried away with thinking they are so special.
I hope this true. Zac will be amazing.

I think they should be moved to the mainboard, Rob Pattinson, and Kristen, and all them are there, and they are around the same age as Vanessa and Zac. Their fans are changing as they get older. Miley deserves to be here because he fans are twelve year olds. I’m seventeen, and I like them. I have older sibs, and their friends are in their 20’s, and they like Vanessa and Zac. They should be switched back over to the main board. Or at least, have more posts there.

I think it is going to be in limited theatres sometime this year.

The last I heard it was to be released in October. A few weeks ago I was renting a movie and asked when they had it 17 Again scheduled to be out and they told me July 21 or something like that. Now i see that it will not be released until August 11. I started wondering if the date was changed so that the DVD would be promoted and out closer to the MAOW release date so as to have Zac’s name in everyone’s minds just prior to his new movie’s release.
I so proud of him for doing different kinds of film that will help him grow as an actor and learn about of film making. Good for Zac.
He’s not doing Saturday Night Fever( that’s just a fake rumor) or HS2(no one is interested in that the except that chick who starred in first one but now can’t get work).

I was at the Virgin festival and I met Zac and Vanessa. I was really happy to finally meet them but whan I asked to take pictures, they didn’t want to, saying they were there for the show. It was shocked.

ia but I don’t think them also being on here is really a bad thing. Funny though that these two started off on the main board before JJr even existed, brought a lot of hits to the site too. They really shouldn’t have to do anything to prove themselves that they deserve to be there. They still get posted there but not nearly as often as they should, which is annoying.

I’m not saying it is completely a bad thing for them to be on this board too but it is very strange that they could carry so many hits on the main board when they were just starting out and get them for simply going out to McDonalds but now that they are obviously “up and coming” and having mature projects they are never mentioned there.
It used to be if I put Just Jared into the yahoo search engine the list that came up had Zac and Vanessa names listed within the first few people. Do you know who is on the top of that list now? SURI CRUISE! Also, I went through just a couple nights ago and within the first 21 pages on JJ there is not ONE thread on either of both of them. ???? Don’t tell me they haven’t done something noteworthy since the MTV awards. I see Dakota Fanning on the board and she wasn’t doing anything earth-shattering…and I’m not downing her, but what’s the deal? And as I said, when they are on JJ it seems to me there are hate-filled post that I believe to be “manufactured”. There, I said it.

I think we are seeing a young man emerge who is a “take charge” type guy. I admire him for that. I have read for years where certain said the best thing you can do for yourself is to be on the producing end of things so you can control what happens to your projects and characters. He has a definite vision of where he wants to go and apparently how to get there.

@steffi r: What sucks about thrillers is when they have a predictable or unanwerable ending…I hope since Zac will be the Executive Producer, he’ll go for outstanding beginnings, middles and endings and won’t disappoint. I can’t wait to hear more on this as well as Charlie St. Cloud, Me and Orson Welles and his other projects…and of course, can’t wait to buy 17 Again when it comes out on DVD in August!!

As far as saying what I really feel, I don’t think I have the words and I’m really NOT trying to be confrontational about it. However, it is becoming abundantly clear there are things amiss on the main board on JJ and here on JJJ. Maybe I have just been around far too long and that’s why it seems so apparent to me, IDK. But here is another thought I had about things…
given that so many people enjoyed both Zac and Vanessa together and separate which caused them to receive so many hits on JJ many of the fans became “tight” with each other. We posted a lot concerning them. We also got to know what was true and what was lies so we posted a lot to keep the air clear. Thus, many got mad at JJ on the main board because as a good business man Jared was constantly posting things about Z &/or V and as resentment goes some got really hot about having to see so much about these two young people.
So, Jared gets a brilliant idea—in his way of thinking, at least—and started a new site which was to cater to the younger fans. He also made Zac and Vanessa the “top”celebrities on that site. I’m sure he thought everyone would be happy and all problems would be solved. But the new problems that occurred was pushing these two who were up and coming into a “second-string” position was not fair to them and it was insulting to the their fans. Then Jared got kind of snotty and said for everyone that complained about it not to worry and to calm down as these two would be on the main board if something was news worthy….maybe that was the plan and I shouldn’t second guess—but it sure didn’t work that way for very long. And that is the TRUTH.
Then to make something bad worse, the people running JJJ for Jared aren’t particularly Vanessa fans…As a matter of fact they are known to be fans of someone else, someone whose threads can be numerous at any given time even though nothing important is happening with her either. Now, believe me, I am not telling anyone who to like or dislike. I’m not going to complain if there are a dozen threads a day on this person—-I always hated when people complained on the main board about how many posts there were of Z &/or V, I just thought if people weren’t interested they should just skip over them— but it is not right to use your “power” to push your favorite person and ignore someone else’s. It is not right to let your own bias rule what is fair.
And I really dislike having that gut instinct that says posts are manufactured to push someone’s publicity or to discouraged certain suspicions people have about the site, or simply to get arguments started. I also dislike misleading captions what get the young started because they don’t read half of what is written or understand it even if they would. And frankly, I truly believe all of this is done on JJJ and JJ. I believe now that the main board is used for all the random daily entertainment stuff. You know, people who never get noticed much but something that has occurred just recently with them but more general stuff. But then again you can believe if something is happening with Brad or Angelina, Tom or Katie whether it be work related or personal, that will get on the main board. Maybe once Z&V get to be 25 they will be allowed to move from the kids’ table to the grown-up one.
BTW, before anyone thinks they will get smart about my “I don’t have words” reference in my long post previously to this: I still don’t think I have the right words to explain what I feel is going on. I would move on but I refuse to let the wolves go wild on Zac and Vanessa.
