He needs to work on his public speaking. That was one of the most boring things i have ever heard. being a rock star doest mean that you are the numbe one best public speaker, you didnt even give across any hope or excitement, your audience wasnt even enthralled.

that speech was breath-taking, his such an inspiration and i support him, and all the other kids suffering from diabeties, too. and @DemiFan i and loads others totally disagree with you, gosh the most of all Nick was trying to do is pass the word to keep strong through this problem in life, and i think it was very inspiring, so please just shut up because that is horrible. and i love him, because his amazing.

@angie: uhh yes I know that. Type 1 means your born with it Type II means you are diagnosed with it. I had health classes on diabetes before. And wired you have the same name I do. (that’s my real name.)

DemiFan @ 11:05 am on 06/25/2009

@qiana: yeah I’m pretty sure it’s DEADLY serious just because he has it and he’s a Jonas right. That’s the funny part of this whole deal that fans only take Nick serious because of that. Again, there are tons who kids suffering with it and dying with that. Unfortunately we are all going to leave this earth one way or another so there’s nothing TOO SERIOUS about that fact dear.

Uh...hello? @ 11:28 am on 06/25/2009

@DemiFan:

Um, hello? That’s kind of the point! Being famous has it’s perks. When Nick Jonas talks, people listen and begin to understand. And, we can help people live a better, easier life while here on earth, disease free. We may all die, but we atleast have the right to an amazing life. I don’t truly believe your whole family suffers from it. It’s like finding a cure is the last thing on your mind.

@DemiFan: oh and btw F*CK OF B*TCH!!! it is serious!!! hes not bragging! why would he brag about something like that!?!?! are you seriously that stupid!?!?! i get that other people have it. my grandpa does. my friends do. so i know that it is serious. but hes using his celebrity status to make people aware of it, not brag that he has it. by telling his story, hes letting people know who may not be aware of it that its affecting many people and that we need to do something if we want to find a cure. what hes doing is considered inspirational not annoying.

Melissa @ 2:36 pm on 06/25/2009

You people say oh millions of perople have the disease he just brags about it. okay yea millions of people have it we get that but if there is someone as well known to get awarness out about it whats wrong with that.? He is just trying to help out all the people and find a cure and he had the power to be heard about it so why shouldnt he use that power to do something usful

@DemiFan: First, if you or any member of your family suffer from Diabetes, I’m sorry. But if you or they truly do have to live with this disease, I hardly think that you’d feel that Nick Jonas was bragging about his having to live with it as well.

He seriously wants to find a cure for it, not only for himself but for everyone who has to deal with it. You don’t have to like Nick Jonas, but you shouldn’t slander his attempts at helping people not only around the United States, but around the world who have to live with this.

My mother and my younger cousin both have Diabetes - my cousin since he was only five years old and my mother more recently. I really don’t want them to have to live with this for the rest of their lives, because, despite what you seem to think, it is serious and there have been numerous deaths all across the globe because of it. My sister-in-law’s aunt simply got a cut in her foot one day and, since she was a Diabetic, it didn’t heal properly and she had to have her foot amputated.

I commend Nick Jonas for doing what he’s doing - not only addressing the Senate, but also making kids and their parents more aware of this disease that affects so many. So maybe you should just take another look at your family members and ask yourself if you really wish them to live with this horrible disease for the rest of their lives.

-Rachel.
