Vanessa Hudgens: From Brainiac to Blondie
Vanessa Hudgens will be heading from Montreal to Vancouver very soon to start filming on her next movie, Sucker Punch.
Sucker Punch director Zack Snyder recently dished to MTV that he was surprised by her audition. He shared, “She rehearsed, she did the audition for the scene. I wasn’t sure at first – [the casting people] were like ‘Oh, Vanessa’s coming’ and I was ‘Oh, okay - that sounds cool’ but I didn’t know what to think. Then I saw the tape and I literally went, ‘Wow, she’s good. She’s really good.’ Then I talked to her about what she’d have to do.”
He continued, “You’re going to see her shooting machine guns, fighting…we sat her down for her physical evaluation, and she was really athletic. It’ll allow her to stretch herself and do whatever she wants, and not be too exposed by the movie - but also, on the other hand, do things that people have never seen her do.”
Sucker Punch, also starring Emily Browning and Abbie Cornish, is set to hit theaters in 2010.

There are so many haters because everyone sees vanessa just as a not very talented actress in movies like HSM or Bandslam or Beastly, but she couldn’t do these parts better because she played only shy and innocents characters.
But i knew she would take better decisions in the future to show her real talent and that is a great opportunity for her to stay for a long time in this business.
Now we have the prove for it!

@sammantha: How are you judging that Vanessa was awfull in HSM, my dear if she was that awfull why was she loved by so many and let me beg to differ it was not because of Zac, he was part of the team of actors that made the movie. Her character was shy and brainiac and my honest opinion she played it superb, it’s no wonder these producers and directors are going after her talent and it’s not just given to her, she auditioned for each of her roles that she is doing now so re-analyze your comment before you post, don’t post because of hatred or jealousy it’s useless and it contaminates your mind until you like yourself no more.
YEAAAH !! Yep. Vanessa’s totally on a role here. I’m so proud of her !!
Hopefully I’ll be able to see her while she’s in Vancouver. Goodness, just thinking about her with machine guns is SO hot. Dayum Baby V.

I’ve never seen any of Zack Snider’s work but judging by what I am hearing he obviously has done a some great work.
Jenny, at first I thought you were a fan but now I’m starting to think differnetly. We all know that vanessa is filming and Zac is preparing for his next upcoming movie so there really is no need to be constantly asking where thet are and if things are alright between them, that isn’t even our business. But I must say that I am truly proud of the progress that she is making. She’s beginning to emerge and become more noticable i the eyes of movie directors. Next thing you know she’ll be in movies directed by Steven Speilberg!

Well most Vanessa haters are Ashley fans because of 3 reasons:
1. Thay CAN NOT tolerate the fact that ZAC is with VANESSA almost 4 years (and he does not care about ashley, he just like her has his sister).
2. at the beginning of HSM Ashley had more fans then Vanessa but then VANESSA “stole” most ashley fans so its bothering them
3. Vanessa IS talented. The fact that Vanessa gets movie offers and ashley NOT (and dont come to me and say “how you know that?” because WE ALL know that because if someone was offering her we would know that) make them be even more angry

All the special effects where awsome and Snyder is a very good director: my teacher showed us this film in history class because it was very faithful of the true story of the spartans, all the little details and the different characters fitted with the true story.

Funny how MTV are finding ways to mention Vanessa in their articles lately. Also the fact that her Director is saying such good positive things about her and he believes in her talent, makes me more excited for this project.
I love that she auditioned and got this despite people’s possible
pre-judgement of her being just a kid from a Disney film. With a A-list
director like Zach Snyder willing to take a chance on her speaks
volumes on how talented she is. Believe me he wouldn’t have picked her if she didn’t bring it. Go Vanessa.

vote for vanessa in the TCA, as I would like that day we had pictures of zanessa but time will tell if they attend.
I would love to see Vanessa in a future work with Steven Speilberg is not impossible because Steve is a member of warners brothers, and I love the special effects that gives wings films (Steve)

No offense but arent you being a bit harsh?I always agree with your comments and this is nothing different I agree that I dont see how ppl can say Vanessa was awful in HSM if professionals chose her over hundreds of other people but Samantha was just stating her opinion and she also said that shes going to give Vanessa a shot and that shes giving her the benefit of the doubt.
And as for Bandslam I dont think weve seen enough to judge on how good or bad she is until weve seen the movie.

Yep, Zach Snyder was the director of Watchmen.
Reading this article has made me excited. The fact that someone like Zach Snyder has decided to cast a “former Disney star” proves that Vanessa must have something special to bring to the character. She put effort and hard work into her audition and landed the role. I’m looking forward to reading more updates on the film.
P.S Does anybody know the release date for Sucker Punch?? I remember reading it somewhere but I can’t remember.

On the topic of Vanessa’s role in Bandslam. Her acting in the trailer may have seemed flat to some people but that is because Sa5m speaks in one tone. The truth is Vanessa’s acting in the trailer was pretty spot on. If you read the character description of Sa5m it makes a lot more sense.
I personally think that her acting HSM was fine. I didn’t see anything wrong with it personally but I do respect your opinion though. It’s great that your giving her a chance and taking some interest in Sucker Punch.
P.S Whoops, I didn’t notice that it’s Zack Snyder.
