Vanessa Hudgens: Everything I Own Music Video
Vanessa Hudgens gets the crowd going wild as she belts out Bread’s “Everything I Own.”
Featured in her upcoming flick Bandslam, when gifted singer-songwriter Charlotte Banksasks (Aly Michalka) asks new kid in town Will Burton (Gaelan Connell) to manage her fledgling rock band, she appears to have just one goal in mind: go head-to-head against her egotistical musician ex-boyfriend, Ben (Scott Porter), at the biggest event of the year, a battle of the bands.
Against all odds, their band develops a sound all its own with a real shot at success in the contest. Meanwhile, romance brews between Will and Sa5m (Hudgens), who plays a mean guitar and has a voice to die for.
Bandslam hits theaters on Friday, August 14th. Don’t forget to order the soundtrack!

Whoah, baby!! You got my blood pumping, Vanessa, and a standing ovation! The clip proves this girl “has it” and she can move someone just watching her on a small computer screen. What many don’t seem to know is this girl has operatic training so nobody should be surprised she can sing or even hit that note—it’s all about how you breathe!
Also, I think the kisses were dead-on and sweet—just the way they should be for this movie—which also shows this girl can act. Just like Zac they both need to show emotion and how they can be believable in the roles they play even if that means they have to do romatic scenes with someone else. Do you people think that actor forget who they love just because they kiss someone for a movie scene? Sometimes some of the hottest love scenes ever seen in a movie were done by two actors who actually disliked each other off camera!

It is definitely true; Vanessa’s voice is not suited to rock music. But, if you listened to the song it wasn’t exactly rock. The kind of music we were listening to (according to what I’ve read about the movie) is Ska. Ska is a mix of reggae and rock music. It is little slower but merges both musical genres together.
This is Aly’s genre of genre of music. It is what her voice is best suited to so she is bound to sound great. I have to admit, I Ioved Insomniatic so I am excited to see what Aly does in this film.This is not Vanessa’s style of music. That’s what makes Vanessa being in this movie so great. She has taken the risk and broadened her horizons by trying something completely new.
There are elements in Vanessa’s voice that we haven’t heard before. This is because she is staying in character. Sa5m has a speech problem, so Vanessa has altered the way she talks and the way she sings in order to make the character more believable.
The note at the end was ridiculous. I have done singing lessons in the past so I am familiar with the amount of skill it takes to pull off a note like that. I definitely can’t do it and I wouldn’t try.

As a fan, I do not think that Vanessa has the best voice in the world but saying she can’t sing at all is a completely exaggerated statement. Saying that you don’t like the way she sings would make a lot more sense than what you have written.
Vanessa can sing. She has proven that at countless times in her performances and in High School Musical. You have to keep in mind that Vanessa is singing in a genre completely out of her element. It’s like Britney Spears trying to pull off r’n'b. Considering that this isn’t her genre of music Vanessa, in my opinion, has done a pretty good job. Not only that, Vanessa voice is very high. This song key is also a little low for her voice.
All of you are complaining about the song and the beat. This is because you are not familiar with this style of music. This is the second time I am going to say it but the style of music is SKA. A reggae and rock fusion.
I am a huge music fan and I do know what real talent is. Vanessa is a triple threat and to me that is talent. Like I said, I don’t think Vanessa has the best voice in the world. There are many artists out there whose voices are not even in the league of this yet they have recording contracts. There are things about her voice that I am not crazy about I will admit. But she can sing.
Don’t get me wrong, I do respect your opinion. You don’t have to like the song but you completely over exaggerated your statement. This is clearly not the worst song ever and Vanessa can sing. This all may be to your liking but that is no reason to completely blast out the entire situation.

The arrangement caught me off guard initially but I love her performance. She totally rocked it!
When they were singing without the instruments, you can hear her voice, loud and clear. THAT is live singing!
How she amazingly held that long note is great. I would so love to see her on stage. I think she’ll get there in the future.
With the arrangement, after a couple of listens, I got used to it and can appreciate how a band like theirs would put their own spin to that song. They are not a mainstream slick band and their performance would reflect that to keep the movie authentic.
Todd’s decision to film the music scenes live was awesome. It totally feels and sounds like a concert performance in a tent not a studio performance.
The scenes in the movie were really sweet and fun. I can’t wait to see the entire movie.
I’m sorry, but that was HORRID. Her voice was squeaky and she is singing through her nose! I love vanessa, but if you guys think that is some “amazing vocal range”, you’re missing out on so many great singers. If you compare her other notes to that long one, they’re not that far apart, her voice is just naturally high much like her speaking voice.

We have this over and over again, a clip or vid of Van is released and suddenly, so many ‘fans’ some of who we know very well not to be fans suddenly come on declaring their love for Vanessa before stating that they hate whatever she appeared in or that it’s ‘gross’ or ’stupid’.
Dear ‘fans’, we’ve been there, done that. Come up with something new or rather sit here with the music video on repeat while you monitor her comments.

The clip showcase the voice of Vanessa. Since I am a Vanessa fan, I still appreciate what she did on that video. She sang it well. If others feels it does not, its your choice..
What is important she performs it to her best. Vanessa’ s voice has a wide range. Maybe there are songs at times that her voice is too high hitting such a note. I even consider her voice an operatic one, obviously has experienced in theater.
For those who are commenting that she is Stupid siinging that song on the video, I’ll tell it LOOK more STUPID when a wanna be singer does perform singing in lipsync without reason at all and cannot even synchronized own lips & tongue while signing.
Anyways, I appreciated when she performs in genuine 110% on stage SINGING LIVE NOT A LIPSYNC. There was even an instance one of their HSM tour, Vanessa was not feeling well that time. But the girl, she did not frustrate her fans, still performed in live. She has a real talent in singing. .

Van is a much better RB soul kinda girl. We still are not seeing her full potential with this song vocally, but she will get there…i actually loved her remake of it.

You know, I didnt think much of her voice starting off the song and then halfway through it went nut’s!..IListened to it again and it gets better every time you hear and see it..so really I think that ok this is an indie movie which doesnt have a lot of potential to kick the box office’s butt but it’s a good choice for vanessa and should be a good movie to watch and enjoy.
What loads of people dont seem to take into account with Vanessa is that she had a career before HSM and has done films like Thunderbirds and Thirteen which she already been allowed to show her acting chops. It’s good that she’s chosen a few films before Sucker Punch to sever the ties so to speak with Disney and get noticed for something other than cheese..lol
Stepping back from music is also a good sign, because even though her songs were ok they were mainly teen focused and she should start to move away from that and get recognition from acting instead.

She is great! even if it is not the kind of music she uses to sing, she did an amazing job, it’s totally her character “Sa5m”! she can be proud of herselve! i can’t wait for seeing the movie! In france we can see it 12th August!
Remember Sa5m is meant to be an akward character. She isn’t meant to be graceful and perfect. So for some reason the whole jumping around bit i think it looks weird seeing Vanessa doing it but it’s meant to be her character. I like the song and she preformed it well. There are moments that could have been done better to make the song perfect but again, i don’t think that’s what the music and movie producers were trying to do for this character. Something i always liked about her taking the role of Sa5m was exactly that, she is meant to be incredibly flawed the opposite of Gabriella. That’s my opinion. But i must admit that this film doesn’t seem amazing but it was never meant to be a life changing kind of a film. I think it looks entertaining and well hopefully do well. It looks good. And i’m sure it’s purpose is to give younger audiences a new look at music and different people that are not usually protagonists in teen films. So it’s a nice concept.
