The Princess & The Frog Official Trailer!
The classic, Disney princess fairy tales are back!
The Princess & The Frog marks Disney’s return to hand-drawn animation in more than 15 years — the last hand-drawn animated movie we saw was Home on the Range
In the new spin on the classic fairy tale, a prince named Naveen (Bruno Campos) from the land of Maldonia is transformed into a frog by the evil scheming voodoo magician Dr. Facilier (Keith David). The frog prince mistakens a girl named Tiana (Anika Noni Rose) for a princess and has her kiss him to break the spell. However, the kiss doesn’t break the spell, but instead turns Tiana into a frog as well. Together, the two of them must reach the good voodoo priestess of the Bayou, Mama Odie (Jenifer Lewis), while befriending a trumpet-playing alligator and a hopelessly romantic firefly along the way.
The Princess & The Frog opens nationwide on Friday, December 11th.

Finally a black Princess!! Now there has been one of all race…I think. Was there ever a Mexican Princess? Or a British one? Regardless, can’t wait for it.

5 Caucasian disney princesses (snow white, cinderella, aurora, ariel, belle)
1 Arabian disney princess (jasmine)
1 Native American or American disney princess (pocahontas)
1 Asian disney princess (mulan)
and soon to be 1 African American disney princess (naveen)

I am super excited for this movie but i know there has been a lot of people excited that the princess is an african american girl but as JJJ says:

so my guess is (and you can see by the stills of the movie) that the girl isn’t a princess but is going to be one in the end since she’s going to marry Naveen, obviously, it’s Disney

I’m so excited for this it’s beyond ridiculous! but it’s disney! it’s practically my whole childhood. I feel like a kid again.
That looks cute! Finally Disney is going back to their old ways of doing animations instead of the 3d-ish look they do now these days. I will catch it on dvd.

Well thank you Disney. It’s about time. I can’t believe that it has taken until now for this to finally happen. On behalf of all the the African American people who have supported your company for all these years thank you for this. Now when we spend all this money with your company we have a choice.
