Jennifer Stone is Harriet The Spy

Exciting news for Jennifer Stone!

The 16-year-old Wizards comedienne has been cast as the title character in a new live-action TV movie Harriet the Spy, thanks to THR.

Jen will play high school student Harriet Welsch in a TV project based on the classic kids book series by Louise Fitzhugh.

In the new tale from the classic series, Harriet is determined to be her high school’s class blogger as she clashes with her nemesis, popular student Marion Hawthorne.

The project will shoot in Hamilton, Ontario and is set to debut in 2010 on Disney Channel.

Congrats, Jen!

Didn’t Nickelodeon ALREADY do this movie back in the 90’s? With Michelle Tractenberg as Harriet, in the MOTION PICTURE (movie released in theaters). I like Jennifer, but no one can play Harriet like Michelle. And people are always talking about how Nickelodeon keeps copying Disney, when it’s really the other way around!

Did DISNEY forget about the ‘96 version with Michelle Tractenberg?? . It’s kinda cool that the perky Jen Stone is cast in this. Hope that she will do a great job with this one. Just as she does playing HArper on WOWP.
