Playbill recently caught up with Abigail to see what exactly happens when she goes to work on Broadway. Abbie writes about her afternoon ritual, “Heading towards the theatre, it’s hard to believe I’m really on Broadway! This is the ultimate New York experience. I am both really nervous and tremendously excited. I really want the audience to enjoy the show and to honor the memory of Helen Keller.”

Abigail Breslin snaps a pic with Kelly Osbourne during the Nanette Lepore Fall 2010 Fashion Show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at The Promenade at NYC’s Bryant Park on Wednesday morning (February 17).

In a new article from the NYTimes, the 13-year-old actress and fellow child-turned-serious actor Dakota Fanning’s careers are discussed.

Cindy Osbrink and Beth Cannon, who manage Dakota and Abigail’s careers chimed in about the strategy in choosing a role. Cindy shared, “I think it’s very telling to watch the film choices of actresses like Dakota and Abigail, because what they’re doing right is challenging themselves by doing different roles in picture after picture.”

Beth shared, “When we choose a project, we talk about: ‘What is this project going to bring you next? What choices will it open up for you next?’ After Little Miss Sunshine, she had a very big adult audience. So we made a very strategic choice to do Nim’s Island and Kit Kittredge to get the kid audience, because we knew we needed the younger demographic for her to continue her trajectory to be a star who could at some point hopefully open a movie. And then we went back to movies like Zombieland, which we knew would be for the teens and 20-somethings.”

The 13-year-old actress recently spoke with Nylon mag about her Broadway debut. She shared, “Helen Keller is one of my heroes. When I got a call asking if I would play her, I said, ‘Heck, yes!’”

The Miracle Worker, starring Abigail, Alison, Matthew Modine, Jennifer Morrison and Elizabeth Franz, begins performances on Friday, February 12 at the Circle in the Square Theatre on Broadway. The show officially opens to the public on March 3, 2010.

The 13-year-old actress makes her Broadway debut in The Miracle Worker, an updated version of the William Gibson play. Abigail plays Helen Keller, the deaf and blind activist and author who learned to communicate with the help of her teacher, Annie Sullivan (Alison Pill).

Abigail shared, “Helen Keller is one of my heroes. When I got a call asking if I would play her, I said, ‘Heck, yes!’”

Even though she’s working on Broadway, she’s still a teen girl at heart. Which means, she’s obsessed with Twilight. “I’m a crazy, obsessed fan. I went to see the first movie on opening day. But I felt left out because everyone in the audience had Twilight t-shirts and I didn’t. So I have Twilight T-shirts now. And have you seen those Twilight water bottles? I have one of those,” she said.

The 13-year-old actress, who was recently cast as Helen Keller for the upcoming The Miracle Worker, also attended the after party held at Bryant Park Grill.

Set in the mythical southern state of Missitucky, Finian’s Rainbow pits a charming Irish dreamer and his headstrong daughter against the host of complications that await them in their newly adopted land: a bigoted southern Senator, a credit crisis, a pesky leprechaun and, of course, a complicated love affair that gives birth to some of the most witty, charming and heartfelt songs ever written for the stage.
