Alexandra Daddario: Logan Lerman Lies

Alexandra Daddario: Logan Lerman Lies

Alexandra Daddario cozies up to costar pals Logan Lerman and Brandon T. Jackson in this recent pic from a special screening of Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Lighting Thief held at Hollywood and Highlands late last week in Hollywood.

The 23-year-old actress was chosen as this week’s Girl2Watch!

Alexandra shared about her two costars, “One of the most fun times were the first three weeks before we started filming. We had sort of a boot camp to get into shape to do all the kind of the physical activity that we’d be doing on the film. That was really funny. We would be in sweat pants at nine in the morning, sword fighting with bamboo swords, and then recording it, and then watching it back, and seeing what we did wrong and how awkward we looked. There’s a lot of humor in it, especially me. I sort of looked like Napoleon Dynamite. We playfully made fun of each other and had a really good time. That was also a really good bonding time for us.”

She continued, “The first fight you see between Annabeth and Percy, some of that’s a little bit real actually. Logan was kind of lying to me a little bit. I was afraid to hit him. It’s always different when you’re working with the actor than working with the stunt guy. He was like, ‘Oh no, no, I’m fine. I’m fine. I’m fine.’”

Logan Lerman & Alexandra Daddario Chat Percy Jackson

Just one more day until you can see Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, and Brandon T. Jackson on the big screen as Percy, Annabeth and Grover in the much-anticipated Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

The new trio recently chatted with CinemaBlend and sounded off on reading the book before the script and how it really was working with Uma Thurman and Pierce Brosnan. Check it:

Alexandra on working in front of a green screen for most of the time: “It’s a little like being a kid again. You get to use your imagination. You can imagine the monster as big and scary as you want it to be. It’s a lot of fun. It’s really amazing to see what you imagined brought to screen.”

Logan on working big name actors like Pierce, Uma and Kevin McKidd: “I’ve always put it this way; acting for me is like a kid walking into a playground and, you know, these great actors like Pierce and Uma and these people that are so seasoned and so talented, they have a huge playground. And going into a scene there’s so much to explore with them because they have many places to go. So it’s just a lot of fun to see your heroes and work with them.”

Brandon on reading the book and then developing his character of Grover: “I have two little sisters who are obsessed with ‘Percy Jackson’ and I told them that I’m just auditioning for Grover and they went totally crazy and that’s when I read the book. I’m going through the book and going through the book and just trying to hurry up and learn it and I feel in love with it. Then I read the script; I feel in love with the script too. So it was like the way I developed the character. And Chris [Columbus] did a great job with helping me develop Grover because in the book he’s real timid and he’s real kind of nervous and I wanted to play him a little cooler. A little bit more swag, as we say.”

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief opens in theaters TOMORROW, Friday, February 12.

TELL JJJ: What would be a good name to call Percy fans?

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: Featurette!

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: Featurette!

Check out this super-cool featurette from the upcoming Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief!

In the featurette, you’ll meet all the key players — from Percy to Persephone and find out what the flick is really all about.

Percy summary: Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman) has just learned that his real father is Poseidon, god of the sea, which means Percy is a demigod - half human, half god. Percy travels to a special enclave called Camp Half Blood, where he trains to harness his newly discovered powers and prevent a devastating war among the gods. There, Percy meets two fellow demigods - the warrior Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario), who is searching for her mother, the goddess Athena; and his friend and protector, Grover (Brandon T. Jackson), who is actually a brave but untested satyr.

The action flick hits theaters FRIDAY, February 12th!

Alexandra Daddario Dreams of Olympus

Alexandra Daddario Dreams of Olympus

It’s less than a week until Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief and JJJ can’t wait!

Alexandra Daddario recently sat down with Scholastic to chat about her character, what she would do if she was a demigod and her favorite character in the series. Check it:

On one of her favorite characters in the books: “Poseidon is a great character as well. The gods are very interesting and the great thing about Greek mythology is the gods make mistakes, they’re more human. So they do mischievous things and they have arguments and get jealous. So some of the gods are very interesting, Ares especially. In the movie he’s a very fun character.”

On how she would describe her character, Annabeth: “She is a great combination of strength and weakness I think which is interesting because what you see her as at first is just very tough and very strong, and you start to see that she has this sweetness and this weakness underneath that. Which I think everybody does. So even though she’s half god, she’s also very human and that makes her a lot of fun to play.”

On if she was really a demigod: “I got to experience everything that a demigod would get to experience just by doing this movie — sword fighting and wearing armor and running through the woods and stuff like that. I can’t imagine. I mean I’d love to go to Olympus, to really see real Olympus. And meet the gods in person.”

TELL JJJ: Are you excited for the movie to open this Friday?

Brandon T. Jackson: More Percy Jackson Clips!

Brandon T. Jackson tries to tell Logan Lerman who he exactly is in this new clip from their upcoming flick, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

The 25-year-old actor recently chatted with USA Weekend about the shock of seeing himself with goat legs on screen.

Brandon shared, “I almost flipped out. My dad thought I was possessed…It was cool because I saw it for the first time, and I don’t know how people are going to react to it because it’s so different. It’s set in Brooklyn and it’s normal kids, this high school that’s made for misfits and people who aren’t accepted or who have ADD problems or special learning skills. It’s not set in Narnia or this Harry Potter world of adventure. It’s very modern, very western, very American. It’s a different twist on it.”

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief hits theaters NEXT FRIDAY. Check out a ton of new clips below!
