Shirley Jones makes amends with new granddaughter Alexa Vega in this new still from Ruby & The Rockits.

In the upcoming episode “50 Ways to Heave Your Mother,” Patrick and David’s (Cassidy) mother, Shirley, pays a visit to her sons from Pittsburgh and she and Ruby (Vega) get off to a rocky start — Shirley insists that Ruby call her Mrs. Gallagher instead of Grandma! Ruby tries wholeheartedly to win her Grandma’s affections; nonetheless Shirley proceeds to make her feel as if she doesn’t belong in the family.

Fun fact: Shirley Jones also played David’s mom in another show — The Partridge Family in the 1970s!

“50 Ways to Heave Your Mother” premieres on Tuesday, September 15 @ 8:30PM ET/PT on ABC Family.

The 18-year-old Ruby & The Rockits actress tweeted last night, saying, “Austin Butler looking quite suave in his suit tonight… until he super stalked Shaq coming out of the bathroom.”

Alexa Vega and Austin Butler try to reason with their parental units in this new still from Ruby & The Rockits.

In the upcoming episode “Do You Want to Blow a Secret?,” Ruby (Vega) secretly borrows Patrick’s (Patrick Cassidy) prized new vehicle to pick up Jordan (Butler), who is stuck at a party that got a little out of hand, while Patrick and Audie (Katie Amanda Keane) are out for a night at the opera.

Ruby asks David (David Cassidy) to cover for her and say he is the one who borrowed the car, which he happily does for her, until he reveals the truth during a televised interview. Not used to how a family works and the Gallagher house rules, Ruby is terrified of what their punishment might be and does everything to try and make it right.

The episode also introduces the new Chevrolet Equinox fuel cell electric vehicle, a hydrogen-powered four-passenger utility that operates without a drop of gasoline and has no tailpipe emissions.

Costars Alexa Vega and Austin Butler premiered their new ABC Family series, Ruby & The Rockits, last night and saw ratings soar!

The duo plus Cassidy brothers David and Patrick debuted as the network’s No. 2 comedy series debut on record with 1.6 million viewers.

During the premiere episode on Tuesday, David finds out he has a daughter, Ruby (Vega) and with the help of David’s brother, Patrick, he’s determined to raise her in a loving family environment.

Alexa, 20, caught up with JustJaredJr.com and dished on her relationship with Austin, 17. She shared, “All my sisters have huge crushes on him. I was really—I’m like, ‘Boy, you better not change. You are so adorable.’ We’ve actually become really, really close. He’s kind of become part of my family. We even go to church on Sundays together. We go eat sushi together.”
