Cole Seeley: Corbin Bleu Picked Up MotoCross Fast

Corbin Bleu slips BFF Monique Coleman in between him and tour choreographer Travis Payne at the premiere of This Is It held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening (October 27).

The 20-year-old flew back from NYC just for the event to celebrate Michael Jackson’s, one of his heroes, life.

Cole Seeley, who trained Corbin for his current flick Free Style, recently chatted with the L.A. Times on what a quick study Corbin is.

Cole shared, “The hardest part of learning how to ride is learning how to use the clutch — how to take off [from the starting line] and how to pull it in when you stop. It’s pretty much the same exact thing as doing it in a car, but it’s done with your feet and your left hand. Your left hand is the clutch, and your left foot shifts. That was a big thing for Corbin to conquer, but he got it down. I mean, he stalled one time, and I went over to help him, and by the time I got there, he had already started it up and taken off!”

Corbin Bleu: Free Style Out TODAY!

Corbin Bleu: Free Style Out TODAY!

Corbin Bleu and Sandra Echeverria share a goodbye at the stables in this still from their new movie, Free Style.

The 20-year-old actor caught up with Hollywood Chicago to chat about Free Style, New York being his home and working with his dad, David Rievers, once again. Check it:

On considering New York his home: “I still consider myself a New Yorker at heart. I come back all the time and I still have relatives there. Both my Mom and Dad grew up in New York, so even living in Los Angeles most of my life, I still grew up in an East Coast home. The biggest difference is, on the whole, New Yorkers aren’t afraid to get in your face (laughs). That’s what I love about home. My mother is not afraid to tell me off, in the best way possible.”

On the heartfelt scene in Free Style with his real father, David Rievers: “There were a couple of different ways we could have played it. This was a turning point for Cale. The whole time he’s been holding on to the fact that his father has left him. He was also thinking that it was his fault. So when he confronts his father we decided that was the point where he could let him go. It’s a huge turning point. It was strange experience playing the scene with my father. I had to pretend that I hadn’t seen him in years, when I actually see him every day.”

On learning how to ride a bike: “Once I knew I was going to ride, I thought ‘okay, I really need to learn how to do this.’ Luckily my manager rides bikes, he brought me to the track and I started learning, met a bunch of the other racers and I became obsessed. I have a bike now, I go to all the races still and I’ve become friends with a lot of top riders. So all of that came together. The rest of the film is a good love story, even though it’s a traditional story of a young guy pursuing what he loves doing, but there are a lot of different layers. It plays with lot of different themes.”

Free Style hits theaters TODAY (October 9) in selected cities. Check out the full article at HollywoodChicago.com.

Corbin Bleu & Madison Pettis: Meet Penelope Ann Miller

Corbin Bleu and Madison Pettis squeeze on-screen mom Penelope Ann Miller in a hug as they present her with three cupcakes for her birthday in this new clip from their upcoming movie, Free Style.

TeenHollywood recently caught up with Corbin to chat about the film. Corbin shared about the multi-racial cast, “(If) a script is dealing specifically with a racial issue, then you really have to play to the part. But this was a script where there was no hint of that.”

He continued, “It was really just kind of our own doing that we really wanted to (make it that way). Especially if we were going to have me in the lead role and have Madison Pettis playing my sister, we didn’t want to cast two Black parents. We wanted to make it what it really is. I have a Black father and a White mother and we wanted to play that.”

Check back tomorrow for another Free Style clip on JJJ!

Madison Pettis: Corbin Bleu Hugs Are The Best!

Corbin Bleu squeezes a hug out of on-screen sister and pal Madison Pettis in this new clip from their upcoming movie, Free Style.

The 11-year-old actress admitted to JJJ at Selena Gomez’s release party on Tuesday night that Corbin’s hugs are some of the best she’s ever had and described her favorite scene to us.

Madison dished, “There’s this scene in the movie where Corbin, who plays Cale, and our mom have a bit of a fight and he’s in his room, reading a motocross magazine on his bed and I peek over the door and he just puts his arm out. He already knows what my character, Bailey, wants. She jumps onto his bed and gives him a hug. She falls asleep in his bed next to him. It’s a really sweet scene.”
