Dakota Fanning dazzles in a sequined gold top as she attends First Star’s Celebration for Children’s Rights held at The Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon (November 15).

The 15-year-old actress was among many who turned out to play carnival games while honoring Stephen Davis, Melissa Helmbrecht and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges.

First Star is a national advocacy group dedicated to strengthening rights and improving lives of abused and neglected children. Dakota serves as First Star’s Youth Ambassador.

The 15-year-old actress dished in the December 2009 issue about growing up through her movie roles, why she chose to go to private school and her budding friendship with Kristen Stewart. Check it:

On her relationship with Kristen: “We became really close, like we’d known each other for our whole lives. We talk all the time. I’ve never been such an evil character [in New Moon], and because I do know Kristen so well, being mean to her was really weird. It’s like, ‘Sorry, dude!’ [Our] relationship that Joan and Cherie have in the script [for The Runaways] is kind of the one that Kristen and I have in real life, minus the destructive part.”

On transitioning from child-star to teen-star: “I’m going to get older and I want to act for the rest of my life—it’s what I love—so I have to move forward with my career. The choices that I make might not always please everyone, but I have to do what I feel is appropriate and right for the time.”

On going to a private school: “I get my rebellion out through my movies. I’m boring in that way. I enjoy having a normal life. I started there [at my school] in the ninth grade, and they were pretty receptive to me right away. I really wanted a home base, because I feel like no matter how old people are, they remember homecoming. They remember their senior prom. And I really wanted that.”

Dakota Fanning waits patiently as a limo comes to pick her up from the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon (November 6).

The 15-year-old actress was amongst the many New Moon cast members there, making rounds to media outlets for the film’s promo.

Michael Sheen and Cameron Bright, who plays Dakota’s on-screen twin, dished to the L.A. Times that the Volturi vamps were avid action figure people.

Michael shared, “I lose days with my Lucien (from Underworld) figure and my Aro figure. We have tea parties. Then we fight. [Dakota] brought her Dreamer doll.”

Dakota Fanning sparkles in a shiny long-sleeved top as she and mom Joy leave Johnny Rockets restaurant in Beverly Hills on Tuesday afternoon (November 4).

The 15-year-old actress is rumored to be in talks for the lead role in the upcoming flick Betsy and the Emperor. Al Pacino has singed to play Napoleon.

Betsy and the Emperor, based on the children’s book by Staton Rabin, tells the true story of Lucia Elizabeth Balcombe, whose father was Napoleon’s jailer during his exile on St. Helena. The two struck up a friendship and rumors flew that the exiled Emperor was romancing the teenager, though they have never been proven.

Dakota Fanning has a huge smile on her face as she’s named homecoming princess during a football game at her local high school in North Hollywood, Calif., on Friday night (October 30).

The 15-year-old actress cheered on her Viking football team and even performed a few high-flying stunts.

Director Chris Weitz told MTV about Dakota’s Jane in the upcoming The Twilight Saga: New Moon, saying, “She’s never really gotten to play a bad person before, probably because she is a very good person. She is really a lovely young person. But I think she had some fun playing, really, the most evil of all the bad guys. [Jane]’s bad news. Very bad.”

Dakota Fanning is anticipating the premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

The 15-year-old actress caught up with EXTRA recently and revealed that she loves playing the bad girl of the flick. Dakota shared, “I think it’s more fun to play a bad person than a good person. She almost blows your mind how evil she is.”

Dakota was also amazed at how pale the crew had to make her. “I thought I was pale before I did the movie, but I realized that I’m not!” she joked.

For the film, Dakota had to wear red contacts and was covered in white powder to become Jane, the Volturi vampire.
