In the new version, Fame follows a talented group of dancers, singers, actors, and artists over four years at the New York City High School of Performing Arts. In addition to their artistic goals, they have to deal with everything else that goes along with high school, a tumultuous time full of schoolwork, deep friendships, budding romance, and self-discovery.

The flick, out Friday, September 25, stars Kay Panabaker, Asher Book, Naturi Naughton, Anna Maria Perez De Tagle, Walter Perez, Paul Iacono, Paul McGill, Collins Pennie, Kristy Flores and Kherington Payne.

Anna Maria Perez De Tagle gets tangled up with costar Paul Iacono in the June 2009 issue of Vanity Fair magazine.

Fame’s new faces — Anna, Paul, Kay Panabaker, Asher Book, Kherington Payne, Naturi Naughton, Collins Pennie, Walter Perez, Paul Mcgill and Kristy Flores — are all introduced in the issue.

The excerpt says, “One unintentionally refreshing upshot of a global financial meltdown is that kids may well choose to sing and dance again rather than pursue lucrative Wall Street jobs. Fame — the well-timed remake of the 1980 Oscar-winning movie may be the perfect elixir for our collective bailout blues.”

V Factory’s Asher Book and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle are just two of the triple threat performers in the remake of Fame, due out in theaters this fall.

Here are just some of the things the cast members are saying about the much-anticipated remake:

Asher Book (Marco): “You really just need to follow your dreams. This movie shows that if you really put your heart and your soul into something, you can really accomplish anything. I think this is going to be a great film because we all have so much passion in what we do.”

Kay Panabaker (Jenny): “What I really love about this film is the fact that it’s all about the characters.”

Anna Maria Perez de Tagle (Joy): “I’m excited to start working with everyone and just show how much chemistry we all have together.”

Kherington Payne (Alice): “It’s the whole idea of struggling and trying to make it. I am following my dream and it’s unbelievable.”

Naturi Naughton (Denise): “This movie will be off the hook!”
