Gaelan Connell’s band, Sweet 16 just uploaded a sneak peek of their new single.

The band blogged about the track, saying, “So the rumors are true. We HAVE been working on a new single in the studio. It’s dark and dancy and a bit more sad than ‘Lightning Strike,’ but that’s ONLY so you can listen to it, get sad, then put on ‘Lightning Strike’ again. But seriously, what’s the most amount of times you’ve listened to ‘Lightning Strike’ on repeat? Three? Four? Eighteen?”

They continued, jokingly, “Actually I’m a little scared to know. Maybe it’s ‘Top Down’ that stays on repeat on your iPod. Maybe it’s Justin Timberlake. I DON’T KNOW. Which is why you should let us know in the comment section. There may be free t-shirts involved.”

Everyone knows Gaelan Connell as the geeky but loveable Will Burton in Bandslam, opposite the lovely Vanessa Hudgens, but did everyone know that he has a band of his own?

It’s true! Gaelan fronts a band called Sweet 16 and JJJ loves to rock out to them!

Even better, Gaelan and his buds just released their new EP, You Know What You Are. It features 4 songs, plus a remix. JJJ’s fave: “Lightning Strike.”

Gaelan Connell is taking you on an adventure — in New Zealand!

The 20-year-old Bandslam actor filmed these exclusive vids for J-14 mag, taking all his fans on his three-week vacation to New Zealand. Gaelan shared that he’s not that thrilled about his meals at night, saying, “I’m at this place and it’s really cool because it’s like this horseback riding farm. It’s like a bed and breakfast and all I do is ride horses all day long, but, they keep trying to feed me vegetables for dinner. I know this sounds like a 12-year-old but I’m not that into vegetables. I can do apples…I eat a lot of apples. I don’t know why you need to know this about me. It’s always awkward at night because the whole family is finished with their plates and I’m the little kid in the corner.”

Bandslam stars Vanessa Hudgens, Gaelan Connell and Alyson Michalka have taught us that music education is very important but so are books.

The trio recently sat down with Scholastic to chat about their favorite reads.

Aly, 20, shared that her fave book is “The Bad Beginning,” the first book in the 10-book series, “A Series of Unfortunate Events” by Lemony Snicket while Gaelan, also 20, prefers “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’Engle.

Bandslam star Gaelan Connell gets silly with JustJaredJr.com’s famous coasters recently in New York City.

JJJ had the chance to chat with the self-proclaimed dork and leading man of Bandslam. Check out what the 20-year-old actor had to say:

JJJ: Have you been recognized on the streets yet?
Gaelan Connell: I have not. One of the coolest things that happened was we left this screening in New York - I went to see [costar] Ryan Donahue - and this girl came up to the two of us afterward and was, like, “Nobody knows it yet, but you guys are so cool!” And I was, like, aww! That’s awesome. “But nobody knows it yet!”

JJJ: Did you play Rock Band and Guitar Hero before you got Bandslam?
GC: Yes, but this definitely helped because they had all these free things - merchandiiiise! Lisa [Kudrow] and I actually played a lot ’cause there’s a scene in the movie where we’re supposed to play but you totally put a picture of us playing it on your blog! Hopefully it’ll be in the deleted scenes.

I think it was because we were too good at it. Lisa and I practiced and we got to Expert. And she’s really competitive - she’d block the screen with the guitar and stuff - like, Mom! And then when we had to shoot it, the TV was off and all the crew guys were getting pissed, like, “Get it right!” and we were, like, “No, we’ve done it!” and nobody believes us. I’m adamant - Lisa and I were really good at it.
