The 2009 Teen Choice Awards are just around the corner and the nominees were just announced!
Hosted by the Jonas Brothers, the 2009 Teen Choice Awards will air Monday, August 10th on FOX.
Twilight, Miley Cyrus, High School Musical 3, the JoBros and Gossip Girl lead the way with the most nominations.

Kenny Ortega is out. Jeffrey Hornaday is in…for High School Musical 4: East Meets West.
While Kenny will be busy directing the upcoming Footloose, Jeffrey will take on the Disney franchise that became a worldwide phenomenon. He shared with the press early this morning, “I’m excited to be part of a franchise that, thematically, encourages kids to believe in themselves. Like the first three movies, my goal is to keep the art form of the traditional musical alive, yet bring a contemporary emotional response to the story and its characters through song and dance.”
Jeffrey Hornaday choreographed Flashdance, A Chorus Line, and also directed Madonna and Backstreet Boys world concert tours.
In High School Musical 4, East meets West in a classic love triangle set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights.
As previously reported, the three sophomore Wildcats introduced in HSM3 — Matt Prokop, Justin Martin and Jemma McKenzie-Brown — will not be back for the continuation of the franchise.

Sources tell JustJaredJr.com that Matt Prokop will not be involved in High School Musical 4.
The 18-year-old actor posted a MySpace bulletin earlier today, saying, “Not only will HSM4 not feature your loved wildcats: Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad, and Taylor, but I will also not be apart of it. Disney decided to go with a completely different story line. I’m so thankful to be apart of HSM3 before they decided to change everything. Enjoy the new characters……. whoever they will be. Matt.”
True or not, JJJ can reveal that Disney will start casting HSM4 in late summer 2009.

Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad and Taylor may have graduated and left East High behind, but High School Musical is far from over.
Disney announced today that High School Musical 4 will bring the franchise back to television in a music and dance-filled movie that will introduce a new cast of characters. The new Wildcats — Jemma McKenzie Brown, Justin Martin and Matt Prokop — introduced in the big screen High School Musical 3 are all set to return to East High’s halls.
In High School Musical 4, East meets West in a classic love triangle set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights.

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens continue their promo tour as they take over Tower Records in Tokyo, Japan on Friday afternoon (January 30).
The High School Musical sweethearts were asked about their favorite Disney characters. While Zac chose Goofy as his favorite, Vanessa opted for a princess: Jasmine. Does that make Zac her Aladdin?

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens bow to each other in front of a shrine in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday afternoon (January 27).
The HSM sweethearts toured the capital of the Land of the Rising Sun before premiering High School Musical 3: Senior Year at the Shinagawa Stellar Ball yesterday evening.
When asked what items they picked up as a souvenir, Vanessa replied, “I bought so many socks. In the USA, they are so expensive. But here you can buy them for so cheap, so I bought tons of them.”

Move over East High Wildcats!
Check out this group of students and friends who re-created High School Musical 3’s “A Night To Remember” prom scene! From utilizing old bathroom stalls to the school gym, this group of students did a fantastic job. They even pulled off the Saturday Night Fever move!
