Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo are officially a couple!

Jason, 22, recently chatted with People mag about his recovery and opened up about his new relationship with Jordin, also 22.

“I’m taking it one day at a time,” he dished. “It’s been really eye opening. It’s given me a chance to look at everything and realize how blessed I truly am. It was shocking because I’ve never broken a bone or anything! [But it] hurt like h—.”

Jason adds of Jordin, “We are together. She lives in Phoenix and she comes [to Miami] and takes care of me, brings me breakfast in bed and she’ll go on walks with me. We’ve gotten closer because of my accident. It’s awesome to have someone you can talk to and she’s a wonderful person.”

Earlier this year, Jason suffered an acute fracture to his vertebra after performing an acrobatic move during rehearsals for his world tour.

Jason Derulo was forced to cancel all his upcoming tour dates and promo events after suffering a neck injury on Tuesday (January 3).

While training for his upcoming World Tour, the 22-year-old musician landed directly on his head, and suffered an acute fracture to his vertebra after performing an acrobatic move.

Rushed to Memorial West Hospital in Miami’s Pembroke Pines, Fla., Jason was told by doctors that the accident could have left him paralyzed.

Reps tell JustJaredJr.com that Jason has been released from the hospital but must wear a neck brace for the next few months. Anyone holding tickets for upcoming shows will be refunded at point of purchase.

“To all my fans who planned to come to the Future History World tour, the pain of letting you down cuts me way deeper than this injury I’ve sustained. My fans mean everything to me, so I’m praying for a speedy recovery in order to perform for you in the near future,” Jason shared in a statement.

Jason Derulo hits the carpet at the Haze Nightclub inside the Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Thursday night (December 29).

After performing a slew of songs off of his Future History album, the 22-year-old caught up with MTV to chat about NYE in NYC 2012.

“I cannot think of another way to bring the new year in than with MTV,” he shared. “I’m excited — new year, new beginnings. I’ll be doing ‘It Girl’ and ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home,’ a medley of the two. [There will] be a lot of high-energy dancing.”

Jason added about the whole show, “It’s going to be a crazy show, I hope you guys are tuning in because lots of great performers. You have different flavors from all around.”

Jason Derulo holds up a peace sign as he heads out for a night on the town on Friday (November 11) in Milan, Italy.

The 22-year-old singer is very excited to perform at UK’s Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball.

“I mean Capital FM, you guys have been supporting me from the very, very beginning man,” Jason told the station.

Jason added, “So much love to you guys and I’m looking forward to coming over there and rocking.”

Jason Derulo sings to the crowds at City Hall prior to the MTV Europe Music Awards 2011 held at the Odyssey Arena on Sunday (November 6) in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The 22-year-old musician told press at the conference on Saturday morning (November 5), “It’s gonna be a sexy show. It is cold outside so I am gonna steam it up a bit.”

Jason also just debuted his new video for “Breathing,” off of his Future History album. The vid was directed by Collin Tilley and Jason had a ton of creative input into making it.

Jason will be joining Snow Patrol in a free event for the 2011 MTV EMAs this weekend.

“This is my first EMA and it’s an honour to be asked to perform as I’ve always been an MTV fan. I am also very excited to perform for my Irish fans and visit Belfast for the first time,” he shared.

Jason will hit up Belfast’s City Hall for his performance on Sunday, November 6th.

Jason Derulo sings a song to honoree Adele Taylor at the 2011 TeenNick HALO Awards held at the Hollywood Palladium on Wednesday night (October 26) in Hollywood.

The 22-year-old singer dedicated his hit song, “It Girl” to Adele.
