The Summer Set is going back on tour in 2010 — as part of the Alternative Press Tour 2010!

Brian Dales, Stephen Gomez, Josh Montgomery, John Gomez and Jess Bowen are hitting the road once again as the opening act in the much-talked about tour.

Each additional band announcements will come on each Monday until December 21 @ NOON ET. Follow AP’s Twitter to find out more clues about who’s coming.

JJJ was lucky enough to hang with The Summer Set before their show in Detroit, Mich., on Tuesday night (November 3) and we found out that they love local bands and even more, country music.

Brian Dales, Stephen Gomez, John Gomez and Jess Bowen dished to us that The Format (a local Arizona band which has since broken up) and Jimmy Eat World are some of their favorite bands.

Brian even revealed that he’s a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen. He shared, “He’s my favorite.”

The foursome also told us that they can’t get enough of country music. They shared, “Country music tells a story. They [the artists] actually say something. More songs need to be written like country songs are. That’s the point, if you’re going to write a song, say something.”

Stephen joked after, “Our whole next record should be written like a country album.”

The Summer Set band is made up of five friends from Scottsdale, Arizona — Brian Dales, Stephen Gomez, Josh Montgomery, John Gomez and Jess Bowen — and their first full-length album, Love Like This, is due out in stores on October 13!

The story behind the lead single off of the record is “Chelsea” goes like this: lead singer Brian was introduced to Miss Staub by guitarist Josh and it was practically love at first sight!

Brian penned the song about his new crush and played it for her and many of the band’s fans last October at the Troubador in L.A. “My advice to anybody is: When in doubt, write a song,” Brian shared. He and Chelsea are still dating!
