While they won’t actually come out and say it, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth clearly have more than your typical friendship.

The 16-year-old actress/singer revealed to Seventeen mag (via People) about their chemistry together.

Miley shared, “I’ve never gotten along with someone so well. I was a little anxious about making this movie; I wanted everything to be perfect. To go on set and feel insecure was a totally new element for me. But he felt the same way. He admitted his insecurities, and it was really nice to have someone who understands me for once.”

She continued, “We’ve decided that any type of relationship that we have, we will always just keep it very D.L. First and foremost, we are best friends, so that’s what I tell people all the time.”

The 16-year-old actress plays Ronnie in the film. The Last Song centers on a rebellious girl who is sent to a Southern beach town for the summer to stay with her father (Greg Kinnear). Through their mutual love of music, the estranged duo learn to reconnect.

The flick also stars Liam Hemsworth and Kelly Preston and is set to hit theaters in April 2010.

It’s been reported that the 19-year-old actor had taken his on-screen romance with costar Miley Cyrus off the screen. According to MTV, the duo were spotted checking out a late night showing of “All About Steve” earlier in the month.

Liam was also at at Miley’s concert in Los Angeles this past Wednesday night and later they were reportedly getting close at the after show-party.

April just might be Miley Cyrus’s lucky month.

Disney reps confirm to MTV News that Miley’s new movie, The Last Song will be releasing a couple of months later than the original date, saying, “The date is now April 2. We found a better release date than January for it. It will open Easter weekend/spring break.”

Miley’s other movie, Hannah Montana The Movie, which also premiered in April topped the box office earlier this year.

The Last Song, also starring Liam Hemsworth, was originally supposed to be released in January 2010.

Are Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth taking their Last Song romance off-screen?

Maybe, maybe not…the 16-year-old starlet was seen kissing Liam at a Nashville airport last week.

Alex Emanuel, a New York actor and onlooker at the airport, dishes to People, “[Miley was] as giddy as a schoolgirl. [As he was leaving a truck at the terminal] she jumped into his arms and threw her arms around his neck and kissed him and leaned back and he was dipping her. It was like a scene out of an old movie where the guy’s getting on a train and they’re saying their goodbyes.”
