According to ESPN, the 21-year-old athlete “went with big tricks and consistency” and “earned points and applause with kickflips off the course’s roof onto the big stair staging area.”

Ryan took home the bronze at the event.

Ryan Sheckler hits the red carpet at the 2011 Celebrity Skins Classic at the Trump National Golf Course in Palos Verdes, Calif., on Tuesday afternoon (July 27).

In support of the Sheckler Foundation and to kick off the 2011 X Games, the 21-year-old athlete invited his sports and celeb friends to come and play a little golf for a good cause.

Tom Felton, Chris Cole, Rob Dyrdek, and Rickie Fowler all came out to raise money for the Ryan Sheckler Foundation where they had a $10,000 putting challenge, a $5,000 helicopter ball drop sponsored by NOHO- The Hangover Defense.

There was also a live auction MC’d by ESPN‘s X Games Host, Sal Masekela.

The foundation — a nonprofit organization benefitting disenfranchised children and injured athletes — was able to raise over $100,000, in addition to donating 30,000 to both ARF-Athlete Recovery Fund and DonateGames! Amazing!

The 21-year-old athlete took home the Alti-Dude honor — the top alternative sports high flyer. Woohoo!

Ryan tweeted after his win, “Thank you to all the fans that voted! I won!!! I was sitting next to the fastest man in the NFL Deshawn Jackson! Too much fun!”

The professional athlete will also be having another party on New Year’s Eve TONIGHT! “Getting real close to celebration time for my 21st birthday @fluxxsd on New Year’s Eve. Don’t miss it – FLUXX is San Diego’s best nightclub!” Ryan announced on his Twitter.

In a recent interview with Axtion mag, Ryan revealed how he really got started boarding.

“I was obsessed with my dad’s board by the time I could point,” Ryan shared. “He finally let me play with it by the time I was 18 months old. I don’t know…at 20 months to 2 years I would push it around with one foot…nothing serious. But that was the only thing I wanted to do. By 3, I was pretty much just going for it.”

Ryan Sheckler has teamed up with several other BMX Action sports stars to support the Athlete Recovery Fund in a new PSA.

The Athlete Recovery Fund offers financial support for rehabilitation and long-term care for those who are left without support following an injury.

In most cases, these athletes are deemed uninsurable by insurance companies due to the high risk nature of their sports and left to pay their own medical costs and for someone like Stephen Murray, who was paralyzed from the neck down following a 2007 BMX dirt accident, that isn’t always easy…
