Saoirse Ronan walks the red carpet in a white ruffly strapless dress at the 2010 BAFTA Awards held at The Royal Opera House in London on Sunday evening (February 21).
The 15-year-old actress was up for Best Lead Actress for her role in The Lovely Bones at the ceremony, but lost out to favorite Carey Mulligan.
Saoirse won the IFTA award for Best Actress yesterday night in Dublin.

A barefoot Saoirse Ronan holds onto her Irish Film and Television Academy statuette backstage at the 2010 IFTA Awards held at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin on Saturday night (February 20).
The 15-year-old actress beat out Janice Byrne, Amy Kirwan and Jade Yourell for the coveted award for her role in The Lovely Bones.
It was just recently announced that Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana would be joining Saoirse in the upcoming Hanna.

Saoirse Ronan stares into the sunset as she poses with The Lovely Bones director Peter Jackson in this new shot from the March 2010 issue of Vanity Fair.
In the feature, which focuses on teams that created the most memorable films of the year, the mag concentrates on Saoirse’s, 15, portrayal as Susie Salmon in the drama.
VF writes, “Jackson was lucky to have her, just as he was fortunate when he was able to rely on Kate Winslet as the foundation for his 1994 breakthrough hit, Heavenly Creatures. This time around, he needed an actress who could give life to a character who is at once a pitiful victim of a serial killer and a detective, of sorts, working from beyond the grave. This is dark stuff, but Ronan, with her game screen presence, brings a light touch and even some humor to the film.”

Saoirse Ronan steps out in a eye-popping blue dress at the 2010 Santa Barbara International Film Festival held at the Lobero Theatre on Sunday afternoon (February 7) in Santa Barbara, Calif.
The 15-year-old Irish actress was one of four young actors to receive the 2010 Virtuoso Award at the festival. Oscar nominated Carey Mulligan, Emily Blunt and Michael Stuhlberg were also honored.
Saoirse also commented on her upcoming role in Hanna, as the title character. She shared with ComingSoon.net, “She’s this young girl who has basically been trained her whole life by her father to kill. It should be good fun and I’m training for it in martial arts. It’s tough but I really like it and enjoy it. I do two hours in the gym and then I do about two hours of martial arts.”

Saoirse Ronan keeps it comfy and cute in red jeans and a knitted beanie as she leaves the Merrion Hotel in Dublin on Wednesday afternoon (January 27).
The 15-year-old actress recently went on sightseeing trip with costar Rose McIver and the NY Times in Los Angeles.
The duo joked that they were someday going to play the twins in The Parent Trap. They shared, “We’re practicing each other’s accents. We look quite similar and eventually we’re going to remake The Parent Trap and swap lives.”

Saoirse Ronan plants a kiss on her father, Paul’s cheek as they walk the red carpet premiere of The Lovely Bones at the Savoy Cinema in Dublin, Ireland on Tuesday evening (January 26).
The 15-year-old actress spoke with the Irish Times about having a premiere in her hometown. Saoirse shared, “It’s really important for me because I feel like Dublin is my home. My family are from here, a lot of my friends are from here and it’s my home country. So to have Irish people around me and to share a movie I care so much about with them is really wonderful.”
Saoirse will also be honored by the US-Irish Alliance in Los Angeles on March 4th.

Continuing to promote The Lovely Bones, Saoirse Ronan keeps it cute and casual on stage at the Shinjuku Park Tower in Tokyo on Thursday afternoon (January 21).
The 15-year-old actress caught up with the Toronto Star recently to talk about how music influenced her portrayal of Susie in the film. She shared, “We would play music every single day. It was very important and reflected the mood of the scene and it helped more than anything else. Pete[r Jackson, director] would talk to me in between takes and he would describe what was going on and I would react to it.”
It was just announced this morning that Saoirse had earned a BAFTA nomination for her role in The Lovely Bones.

Congratulations Anna Kendrick and Saoirse Ronan!
Anna, 24, was just announced as a nominee for Best Supporting Actress and Saoirse, 15, was nominated for Best Leading Actress at the 2010 BAFTA Awards!
Also nominated: Up and Coraline for Best Animated Film, Up In The Air for Best Film, and Kristen Stewart for the Rising Star Award.
The 2010 BAFTA Awards, which are the British equivalent of the Oscars, will be presented on February 21.
