Zac Efron Shares His Good Date Recipe

Zac Efron is handing out some dating advice to guys everywhere.

The 21-year-old shared some dating advice with Nylon mag via MTV, saying, “A good date movie is anything she wants to see, but the key is pretending like you’re really excited. The movies is one of the best places to go ’cause it’s dark, and everybody’s faced in one direction, and the movie’s far more interesting than me. It’s one of my favorite places to go these days.”

It must work for him, he’s dating Vanessa Hudgens after all.

Zac also revealed what’s been playing on his iPod as of late. He shared, “I listen to all types of music all the time. I’ve been listening to a lot of Michael [Jackson] recently, Joy Division, early reggae, stuff like that. Just a mix.”

Zac Efron: Nylon’s November Cover Guy

Zac Efron: Nylon’s November Cover Guy

Zac Efron shows off his short hairstyle on the November 2009 cover of Nylon Guys magazine.

The 21-year-old actor dished to the mag about making a record, seeing his face on a lunch box and watching his latest film, Me & Orson Welles, all the way through. Check it:

On not skipping out on a showing of Me and Orson Welles: “It’s the first time I’ve ever watched a movie [that I’m in] and in the end I’m like, ‘OK! I didn’t check my watch once!’”

On growing up musically inclined: “I was constantly singing. I would hear things on the radio and just be able to spit them out instantly, with perfect memorization and tone. It wasn’t like I took pride in it; there was no effort. My parents were like ‘Shut up. Please stop singing. It’s annoying.’”

On whether celebrity albums are necessary: “If anyone asked themselves that, then we wouldn’t have the crap we are listening to today. If your heart’s not in it, don’t do it. And don’t do it for money. That’s my philosophy.”

On his Disney fame: “I try not to look at all of it. You can’t enjoy or celebrate it; it’s not a real thing. The face on the lunchbox and s— —you can’t share that with your friends.”

Courteney Cox Cougars Over Zac Efron

Courteney Cox know who the perfect prey for her new series, Cougar Town would be — Zac Efron!

The former Friends star dished to ET, saying, “Zac Efron would be perfect, but Zac probably has too much confidence to be real prey for a cougar. You know you’re a cougar when you’re attracted to your son’s friends. You know you’re a cougar when you’re attracted to your daughter’s — who’s five — idols, which is where I come in.”

Zac has already worked with Courteney’s former costar and on-screen husband, Matthew Perry, in 17 Again.

Cougar Town premieres TONIGHT, September 23 @ 9:30PM ET/PT on ABC.

Zac Efron: Me & Orson Welles UK Trailer!

Zac Efron: Me & Orson Welles UK Trailer!

Zac Efron keeps his eyes shut tight after sharing a kiss with leading lady Claire Danes in the official UK trailer for their upcoming flick, Me & Orson Welles.

The drama centers on a teenager (Efron) who is cast in the Mercury Theatre production of “Julius Ceasar” directed by a young Orson Welles (Christian McKay) in 1937.

The Guardian says of the flick, “Newcomer Christian McKay makes a magnificent Orson, but it’s Efron who really impresses: showing a depth and charm you’d never have dreamed of. He’s not afraid to look petulant and silly, and does, frequently. That said, there are moments in which you can’t help but think: Efron should really, at some point, play a killer.”
